like it tried to start and stopped for 2-3 times
tfw 18x16GB pc310600r is still nearly $1500
sigghhhh tfw serverlet
what do you host on that :smail:
just grab a dl380 or r710 off ebay, whole system (sans drives and drive trays and the cpu upgrade and all that shit) cost less than a ryzen 1700
's my homelab vm host
biggest thing it does is a calibre server
I might get g8 microserver <:autism:327926282639769610>
which isn't running rn
because that by itself bumps power consumption up by like 100W
thing idles at like 150W even with the redundant psus, both cpu sockets filled with the fastest cpu it'll take, and all drive bays filled with nice powerhungry enterprise drives
ye :v
not uncommon tbh
That's...
Oh, proper server hardware?
yeah
dell r710
Gotcha. I didn't read up, so I assumed y'all were talking about consumer grade hardware.
That'd be one hell of a mobo.
48 has me feeling a bit of a squeeze with that calibre vm eating up most of it
it could use it all if i let it, i only give that vm 32GB of ram tho
i'd love to give it a cool 144 or so
I have 16 gigs in my Winputer, and I use that thing for gaming. That's feeling a bit cramped. 🤔
Only 32 gigs in the other puter. Definitely plenty for me.
i need to max out my workstation's ram
32GB in here now, could go up to 64, 32 feels kinda cramped when i'm really in my groove with the cad/cam stuff
😄
You're still in Cheena?
I only have 8 <:pepestressed:327933525124841482>
same
although the most load it gets is when I game so its enough I guess
kinda hurts when I need to work with PS/Lightroom, though
