never made a claim

2020-12-27 17:13:29 UTC

we predicted it would be around 1 million people dead if we didn’t do anything

2020-12-27 17:13:36 UTC

ok ur just restating what u said earlier

2020-12-27 17:13:41 UTC

so im going to give u the same argument

2020-12-27 17:13:42 UTC

ok

2020-12-27 17:13:53 UTC

ok tell me what is absolutely nothing, tell me how a disease which mainly only affects elderly and people with severe problems.

Ok heres a good analogy.

Every year 2.5 million people die in car crashes, yet we still use cars because its much more efficient. So we are not going to stop using cars.

Every year 320k people die from a disease so why are we forced to lock down when if we lockdown the entire economy collapse we suffer?

What doesnt make sense is we lockdown for less deaths at a greater cost than what we do with cars. Do you understand the analogy? Even then people are suffering because of this, unemployment has skyrocketed, only 600 dollars in stimulus, politicians fighting for power over this crap,

https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/yelp-business-closures-permanent-covid-report-2020-9-1029598577?op=1

"COVID-19 is continuing to cripple the economy as 60% of US businesses that have been shut since the start of the coronavirus pandemic won't ever reopen, according to the latest Economic Impact Report by Yelp."
Why lockdown the economy which will only result in more failed businesses, higher suicides, more misery. When this virus has over a 99% survival rate for people under 70. (https://www.winknews.com/2020/09/23/cdc-shows-covid-19-has-high-survival-rate-doctor-still-wants-to-see-precautions-taken/)

"A CDC update Wednesday says individuals are more likely to survive the coronavirus after contracting it. The health agency says if you have the virus between the ages of 0 to 70, you have a 99% survival rate. And if you’re over 70, the survival rate is nearly 95%."

2020-12-27 17:14:07 UTC

so we don’t shut down because it doesn’t cause as many deaths as cars?

2020-12-27 17:14:08 UTC

(https://www.fpri.org/article/2020/03/the-effect-of-covid-19-on-the-u-s-economy/) "The stock market has sunk a quarter from its peak last month, wiping out three years of gains. Last week, meanwhile, brought news that a record 3.28 million Americans applied for unemployment benefits, the highest number ever recorded. Unemployment is shooting up far faster than it did during the 2008 recession, a sign the economy is headed toward recession."
"To understand COVID-19’s hit on the economy, consider its effect on different industries. Consumption makes up 70% of America’s gross domestic product (GDP), but consumption has slumped as businesses close and as households hold off on major purchases as they worry about their finances and their jobs. Investment makes up 20% of GDP, but businesses are putting off investment as they wait for clarity on the full cost of COVID-19. Arts, entertainment, recreation, and restaurants constitute 4.2% of GDP. With restaurants and movie theaters closed, this figure will now be closer to zero until the quarantines are lifted. Manufacturing makes up 11% of U.S. GDP, but much of this will be disrupted, too, because global supply chains have been obstructed by factory closures and because companies are shutting down factories in anticipation of reduced demand. Ford and GM, for example, have announced temporary closures of car factories."

"“We’re seeing, sadly, far greater suicides now than we are deaths from Covid. We’re seeing far greater deaths from drug overdose, that are above excess, than we had as background, than we are seeing deaths from Covid.”"
more people dying from lockdowns than covid

2020-12-27 17:14:11 UTC

or anything else?

2020-12-27 17:14:20 UTC

alright

2020-12-27 17:14:31 UTC

so

2020-12-27 17:14:33 UTC

2020-12-27 17:14:33 UTC

insult the argument

2020-12-27 17:14:45 UTC

statistically not a big deal

2020-12-27 17:14:49 UTC

or i could argue that murder isn’t bad because it didn’t affect a lot of people

2020-12-27 17:14:56 UTC

statistically not a big deal

2020-12-27 17:14:58 UTC

but it’s still and can you agree with that?

2020-12-27 17:15:01 UTC

2020-12-27 17:15:05 UTC

that rape and murder and death is and

2020-12-27 17:15:07 UTC

u are strawmanning

2020-12-27 17:15:10 UTC

ok

2020-12-27 17:15:12 UTC

you didnt refute my argument

2020-12-27 17:15:20 UTC

you ignored all the economic sufferage there would be

2020-12-27 17:15:24 UTC

and u just insulted it

2020-12-27 17:15:27 UTC

just answer the question

2020-12-27 17:15:29 UTC

u obviously lost this

2020-12-27 17:15:35 UTC

no i wont bc its a strawman of my argument

2020-12-27 17:15:37 UTC

that’s the argeument i’ll use it to deconstruct your argument

2020-12-27 17:15:44 UTC

no its a strawman

2020-12-27 17:15:51 UTC

i know what ur trying to say and its a strawman

2020-12-27 17:15:58 UTC

how about we vc debate this

2020-12-27 17:15:58 UTC

what am i trying to say?

2020-12-27 17:16:00 UTC

no

2020-12-27 17:16:04 UTC
