Best places are in the south, the only reason why Florida man exists is because their police records are the most transparent

Portland is actually a pretty cool and interesting place if you don’t have a bunch of people rioting and shit

2020-12-30 19:23:18 UTC

I’ve been there

2020-12-30 19:23:25 UTC

I plan on visiting Houston someday. Or anywhere in Texas.

2020-12-30 19:23:31 UTC

Any city in texas, that is.

2020-12-30 19:23:36 UTC

Not gonna visit it's desert.

2020-12-30 19:25:08 UTC

I've heard El paso sucks as a tourist but I'd go to Houston. I've been to 38 states and really visited about 20. Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, that NW corner, is the coolest by far. You get everything you need there in one block.

2020-12-30 19:32:04 UTC

I live in Houston it’s pretty cool here

Ngl the people are good at who they elect then

2020-12-30 21:35:08 UTC

you dont need to be at a place to judge it

2020-12-30 21:35:13 UTC

theres smth called statistics

2020-12-30 21:41:54 UTC

It's hard to qualitatively compare two places without having been to either because qualitative references are based on comparison to your experience

2020-12-30 21:46:22 UTC

no the problem with experience is that you can see one bad thing about a city and say thats the entire city then see one good part of a city and ignore the bad, while with actual statistics you can prove something overall. See if you were to argue that, thats just one big fallacy and you look like a moron. "Oh I only saw 1 homeless person in san fran" but statistics show theres much more. Thats stupid and people shouldn't think like that.

2020-12-30 21:47:20 UTC

even if ur giving qualitative references you can search things up such as dining, or mueseams, etc

2020-12-30 23:02:05 UTC

I'm familiar with the concepts of anecdotes. You didn't even come close to addressing the issue I pointed out, which is the problems arising from balancing two indirect qualitative comparisons

You can make qualitative assessments of a place you've never been to; they just won't be robust enough to truly compare to one another

2020-12-30 23:05:20 UTC

ok so how was it not relevant

2020-12-30 23:05:30 UTC

u just made an assertion about my rebuttal then repeat ur claim

2020-12-30 23:08:16 UTC

I explained my assertion about your claim in the first line. It wasn't relevant because you addressed the failings of anecdotes, not about how you can't accurately ever compare two non experienced places in a meaningful way. I made a claim about non anecdotal things and you spoke about the failings of anecdotes

2020-12-30 23:08:44 UTC

They were both part of the broader conversation, but what you said wasn't relevant to the point I was making at all

2020-12-30 23:09:21 UTC

if ur talking about an emotional and meaningful way then yea sure

2020-12-31 02:53:50 UTC
