to a certain extent
being gods offspring
demigods really
> and then look what happen after, Satan fled, and Jesus didn't struggle to survive, but the angels themselves came and administered to his needs
@Japheth
Right but that is Jesus, do you not think it being the son of God is unique in that circumstance?
i'd say another example since you're right Jesus is from above and is the Word of God, look at the prophet Elijah a mere man just like us
was he a disciple
Elijah did not struggle in the wilderness, but because he loved God, the ravens themselves fed him, the angels came and told him where to go
i think the disciples themselves were also.. spiritually unique
Elijah is a prophet in thelater chapters of book of Kings
> Elijah did not struggle in the wilderness, but because he loved God, the ravens themselves fed him, the angels came and told him where to go
@Japheth
was this in the old or new testament?
Also one could say that we are aided in our survival by God.
But we still have to find the food.
and eat it.
old, towards the end of 1 Kings, and then he is taken up to heaven in the whirlwind in the beginning of 2 Kings
ah yes
see i also think the old testament was before Jesus and it says that before Jesus came the world was fundamentally different.
and then the spirit of Elijah is referenced in the Gospels, and Elijah is a candidate to be one of the Two Witnesses in the Apocalypse
The world changed radically after Jesus's arrival and passing.
well the old testament was certainly not before Jesus, for even as Jesus said, "before Abraham was I am"
Yeah because he is God
in my opinion
we must remember Jesus is God's own Word by which God spoke all of creation into existence
Thats not him saying that his passing didnt change the world.
maybe i can find some scripture saying that one sec
the old testament never went away, it is still in effect, it's just merely now that the prophecies and such that were lookign forward to Jesus have been passed, now destiny is very fixed and all that is left to be fulilled is the Apocalypse
surely we know God no longer turns entire cities to ash and causes everyone to gaze back at it to turn to ash. right? Nor does he call Floods that consume the whole earth.
He even indicated that he promised to not do that again. Showing that the whole world flooding also fundamentally changed the world.
And the way he governs it. to some degree.
yea he certainly does do all that still
and then i mean you look at the prophecy of the Apocalypse, he will destroy the earth with great and terrible curses and calamities
Right but the end times is when Jesus comes back. Which will once again change the world in a fundamental way.
Once he arrives yes the entire world will change.
oh it won't change the world, it will end it
come on man. If I obliterate something to where it no longer exists. Then I have changed it.
Into nothing
lol sure if you want to look at it that way lol
Also there are phases before he destroys it
such as calling all those to heaven
the rapture
oh yea even before the earth is destroyed tremendous calamities precede the coming of Jesus; the stars fall on to the earth, the sun and moon are smote, the great earthquake to shake all the world, the unleashign of the bottomless pit, etc.
