to a certain extent

2020-08-24 21:52:49 UTC

being gods offspring

2020-08-24 21:52:51 UTC

demigods really

2020-08-24 21:53:22 UTC

> and then look what happen after, Satan fled, and Jesus didn't struggle to survive, but the angels themselves came and administered to his needs
@Japheth
Right but that is Jesus, do you not think it being the son of God is unique in that circumstance?

2020-08-24 21:53:25 UTC

i'd say another example since you're right Jesus is from above and is the Word of God, look at the prophet Elijah a mere man just like us

2020-08-24 21:53:46 UTC

was he a disciple

2020-08-24 21:53:48 UTC

Elijah did not struggle in the wilderness, but because he loved God, the ravens themselves fed him, the angels came and told him where to go

2020-08-24 21:54:00 UTC

i think the disciples themselves were also.. spiritually unique

2020-08-24 21:54:03 UTC

Elijah is a prophet in thelater chapters of book of Kings

2020-08-24 21:54:20 UTC

> Elijah did not struggle in the wilderness, but because he loved God, the ravens themselves fed him, the angels came and told him where to go
@Japheth
was this in the old or new testament?

2020-08-24 21:54:36 UTC

Also one could say that we are aided in our survival by God.

2020-08-24 21:54:43 UTC

But we still have to find the food.

2020-08-24 21:54:46 UTC

and eat it.

2020-08-24 21:54:48 UTC

old, towards the end of 1 Kings, and then he is taken up to heaven in the whirlwind in the beginning of 2 Kings

2020-08-24 21:54:51 UTC

ah yes

2020-08-24 21:55:16 UTC

see i also think the old testament was before Jesus and it says that before Jesus came the world was fundamentally different.

2020-08-24 21:55:20 UTC

and then the spirit of Elijah is referenced in the Gospels, and Elijah is a candidate to be one of the Two Witnesses in the Apocalypse

2020-08-24 21:55:31 UTC

The world changed radically after Jesus's arrival and passing.

2020-08-24 21:55:50 UTC

well the old testament was certainly not before Jesus, for even as Jesus said, "before Abraham was I am"

2020-08-24 21:56:09 UTC

Yeah because he is God

2020-08-24 21:56:15 UTC

thats just him saying he is the holy trinity

2020-08-24 21:56:17 UTC

in my opinion

2020-08-24 21:56:20 UTC

we must remember Jesus is God's own Word by which God spoke all of creation into existence

2020-08-24 21:56:33 UTC

Thats not him saying that his passing didnt change the world.

2020-08-24 21:56:49 UTC

maybe i can find some scripture saying that one sec

2020-08-24 21:57:23 UTC

the old testament never went away, it is still in effect, it's just merely now that the prophecies and such that were lookign forward to Jesus have been passed, now destiny is very fixed and all that is left to be fulilled is the Apocalypse

2020-08-24 21:57:27 UTC

surely we know God no longer turns entire cities to ash and causes everyone to gaze back at it to turn to ash. right? Nor does he call Floods that consume the whole earth.

2020-08-24 21:57:53 UTC

He even indicated that he promised to not do that again. Showing that the whole world flooding also fundamentally changed the world.

2020-08-24 21:57:59 UTC

And the way he governs it. to some degree.

2020-08-24 21:58:01 UTC

yea he certainly does do all that still

2020-08-24 21:58:20 UTC

and then i mean you look at the prophecy of the Apocalypse, he will destroy the earth with great and terrible curses and calamities

2020-08-24 21:58:37 UTC

Right but the end times is when Jesus comes back. Which will once again change the world in a fundamental way.

2020-08-24 21:58:46 UTC

Once he arrives yes the entire world will change.

2020-08-24 21:58:55 UTC

oh it won't change the world, it will end it

2020-08-24 21:59:16 UTC

come on man. If I obliterate something to where it no longer exists. Then I have changed it.

2020-08-24 21:59:21 UTC

Into nothing

2020-08-24 21:59:28 UTC

lol sure if you want to look at it that way lol

2020-08-24 21:59:39 UTC

Also there are phases before he destroys it

2020-08-24 21:59:46 UTC

such as calling all those to heaven

2020-08-24 21:59:57 UTC

the rapture

2020-08-24 22:00:28 UTC

oh yea even before the earth is destroyed tremendous calamities precede the coming of Jesus; the stars fall on to the earth, the sun and moon are smote, the great earthquake to shake all the world, the unleashign of the bottomless pit, etc.
