well, they seem more invested in Chinese relations.
couldnt agree more
And the Chinese influencers in the US seems to support them.
Now, nothing wrong with this. A Chinese bank wants to make money, just like any other bank. But I dont like their efficiency culture.
And their social control routines are horrible.
I expect this to be implemented gradually across the world as they start owning stuff.
I want my Aston Martin to be built by a jolly englishman who enjoys going to the pub. Not a 22 year old zombie who works till his hands bleed.
its pretty terrifying to be honest
In some regards, yes.
remember the balance of order and freedom in a society. The chinese prefer order.
That has its flip side in the amount of control you need.
Freedom has its flipside too. Many people use their freedoms to hurt other humans. Crimerate often climbs.
yeah in my opinion there is a fine balance between the too
*two
Indeed. The UK used to be good at that balance.
Not so much recently.
i whole heartedly agree on that front
isnt it weird that our conservatives in the UK are actually not as conservative as you guys
I am not american.
oh really where you from
But...I cant really find any conservatives at all in the occident. It seems the categories of yesteryear are gone. Everything has turned into a popularity context. Reality TV.
The philosopher Byung-Chul Han states that it is the end if ideology.
yeah couldnt agree more with that statement to be fair
Im in Norway.
Note that you will find no real left wingers either. We are left with gramscianites and maoists who wants to influence gender identity to produce equality of outcome.
Which isnt really left wing at all.
According to basic Marxism, its actually right wing.
its a really messed up time to be honest
I recommend Byung-Chul
he understands this "death of ideology" better than most contemporary thinkers.
he claims the post-modern man is unable to uphold ideologies, because products and product branding has taken the place of thinking.
so political parties are not of ideology, but of chance crowding people, centering their identity on a flag, a name, a sticker.
Politics then being reduced to focus-group agendas. Popularity contests. Ideas, visions for the future, long term strategies no longer possible.
Explains a lot, doesnt it?
That sounds 100% what this has looked like in the US for some time. Especially apparent in this election.
And their slogan "Build Back Better" I have seen that slogan being used by folks in a few other countries.
^ yep, UN uses it, I think some Canada MPs, and iirc New Zealand’s new president in her inaugural address. And so on. I may have heard a clip of Boris, as well.
@TheParamedicGamer "Yes we can" wasnt very specific either. 😄
@Doc fair
"make america great again" is somewhat more specific, but more so emotionally. I have seen no explanation of what this greatness entails and how it is to be achieved.
