I understand why people might think it's retarded

2020-12-18 02:49:14 UTC

But I've seen some people complain about it because apparently it's "an insult to the series" which is dumb

2020-12-18 02:50:09 UTC

There's a lot to be said about the ending when you think about it more, I think the whole point was you were meant to stop and think about what could have been real and what was fake

2020-12-18 02:50:22 UTC

I think the pregame tapes were 100% faked because of the prologue

2020-12-18 02:50:36 UTC

I'll talk about it later

2020-12-18 04:46:31 UTC

Cope

2020-12-18 20:47:10 UTC

What is even the point of a “twist” if it gets invalidated later on

2020-12-18 21:44:37 UTC

Invalidated by what exactly

2020-12-18 21:45:00 UTC

I don't see why it's invalidated

2020-12-18 21:48:07 UTC

Because the twist likely wasn’t even one to begin with since its implied to be mostly lies

2020-12-18 21:48:20 UTC

Which twist? That's it all fiction?

2020-12-18 21:48:25 UTC

Or that they supposedly participated voluntarily?

2020-12-18 21:50:25 UTC

It's not much different to the other supposed "twists" the games have
The first game had Junko say that the outside world is ruined and no one was there for them

2020-12-18 21:50:45 UTC

But they didn't know if it was a lie and it was Junko trying to spread despair and keep them locked away

2020-12-18 21:52:43 UTC

Both “twists” are called into question as being likely falsehoods
And I didn’t think of the world potentially being ruined as a twist when I first played it

2020-12-18 21:53:33 UTC

It kinda was, because you first play the game and everything is fine and the first thing you remember is voluntarily joining the school and researching about the class members there

2020-12-18 21:53:48 UTC

The twist is that 3 years have passed since then or some shit and the world has fallen into destruction

2020-12-18 21:53:56 UTC

At least I remember it being similar to that

2020-12-18 21:55:29 UTC

The twists with Danganronpa V3 could just be Tsusmugi lying to you, but we don't fully know the answer, and it's sorta left for you to decide
The whole twists of "Shuichi and the others were actually shitty normies who wanted this killing game" "Danganronpa 1 and 2 was done by actors" is left to interpretation

2020-12-18 21:57:21 UTC

And that’s cringe and Reddit. Its poor writing to have a bombshell twist (One that wasn’t even that great to begin with) only to imply later “Oh it MAY or may NOT be true, its up to you to decide lul”

2020-12-18 21:59:03 UTC

I don't see how it's poor writing to leave it up to interpretation but that's just me

2020-12-18 21:59:34 UTC

You probably have already but maybe you should think about what you think happened at the end because it is genuinely kinda interesting figuring out what happened

2020-12-18 21:59:43 UTC

There are more theories that are more legitimate than others

2020-12-18 22:00:52 UTC

My interpretation is that DR1, 2, UDG and 3 are real media series done (much like in real life) and it became so big, that by the 53rd series, (((Team Danganronpa))) became a corrupt company that does live action shows using futuristic technology and abducting random people to participate in the show

2020-12-18 22:02:49 UTC

The only person who doesn't talk in the prologue is Rantaro

2020-12-18 22:02:58 UTC

who probably knew the entire time not to say anything that it was gonna be a killing game

2020-12-18 22:03:07 UTC

and might have had his uniform from the last show

2020-12-18 22:03:38 UTC
2020-12-18 22:10:02 UTC

If there is one thing I can the ending credit for, it wasn’t another “YAAAAAAS HOPE VS DESPAIR” episode like the first two

2020-12-18 22:10:13 UTC

Yeah I appreciate that too

2020-12-18 22:10:27 UTC

There's only so much you can do with Hope vs Despair before it gets annoying

2020-12-18 22:10:33 UTC

Truth vs Lies is a very interesting theme

2020-12-18 22:10:41 UTC

And that's what makes Kokichi such a great character

2020-12-18 22:11:02 UTC

He's a Chaotic Good character, and his lies help save everyone in the end

2020-12-18 22:11:25 UTC

There's actually a theory that in chapter 3, Kokichi took the key card from Monokuma and discovered the room that makes all the flashback lights and discovered that they were fake.

2020-12-18 22:11:39 UTC

That's why Kokichi never gives a shit when everyone is done watching the flashback lights

2020-12-18 22:11:49 UTC

He's the ONLY one who doesn't say anything and doesn't care

2020-12-18 22:11:54 UTC

I think he knew all along

2020-12-18 22:12:05 UTC

That they were inside of a TV show and there were people watching

2020-12-18 22:12:20 UTC

But obviously didn't want to tell anyone because... Why would he?

2020-12-18 22:14:54 UTC

There's also another theory that he manipulated all the flashback lights and changed them to "The Most Terrible and Tragic Event in Human History" so that he could make his classmates fall into despair so they could stop fighting entirely and the audience would get bored
