They wouldn't report on it if there wasn't a point. The guy even said "the aliens said that people aren't ready" then proceeds to tell about them anyway. If their existence was truly so secret, that information would not have been broadcast. IMO it should be treated as anti-religious crap, a tangential way to convince people that there is no higher being.
