Yeah really

2020-11-02 00:54:30 UTC

But we should come up with like a "ten commandments" for conservatism

2020-11-02 00:54:41 UTC

I saw the comments on Don Jr's post. It's really gross. People are saying "now Libertarians don't have an excuse *not* to vote for Trump!" Like it's a good thing

2020-11-02 00:55:09 UTC

I don't think a "conservative ten commandments" is really necessary when you have the original

2020-11-02 00:55:27 UTC

I mean the people who subvert us break at least a few

2020-11-02 00:55:37 UTC

Well.... given the situation we need any vote we can get but in the long run yeh... its not a good thing

2020-11-02 00:58:10 UTC

@Luso I mean yes the original ten commandments would be a good start but im talking more explicit on political stances i.e "conservatives do not support abortion"(except possibly in the case for the physical life of the mother) meaning if you dont support this than you should not call yourself conservative

2020-11-02 00:58:36 UTC

Oh yeah totally

2020-11-02 00:59:07 UTC

I thought you meant literally calling them the "ten commandments of conservatism" or something lol

2020-11-02 00:59:11 UTC

But you're right

2020-11-02 00:59:28 UTC

Something specifically addressing policy is good

2020-11-02 00:59:47 UTC

yeh basically explicitly addressing policy/policies

2020-11-02 01:01:00 UTC

I think practically the most important thing for zoomers to focus on really is converting campus Republicans because that's the only thing we can realistically change rn

2020-11-02 01:01:31 UTC

Though that's probably obvious

2020-11-02 01:01:53 UTC

It would be nice to have some general sttategy that can be used almost universally

2020-11-02 01:01:59 UTC

Idk if that's possible

2020-11-02 01:02:44 UTC

But I'm sure a strategy to influence College Rep chapters relies primarily on common sense and dedication rather than some sort of "master plan"

2020-11-02 01:03:56 UTC

I was hoping Nick's university tour would really open a window for us but that isn't happening yet thanks to corona...

2020-11-02 01:04:04 UTC

butr the prob is that con inc likely thinks that is what we would do

2020-11-02 01:04:55 UTC

Well luckily most college Rep chapters are pretty closely organized and aren't necessarily under the thumb of TPUSA

2020-11-02 01:05:00 UTC

Unless I'm wrong

2020-11-02 01:05:09 UTC

How common are TPUSA chapters

2020-11-02 01:06:00 UTC

Do TPUSA managed chapters necessarily have TPUSA in their name?

2020-11-02 01:06:04 UTC

id say they are at most schools

2020-11-02 01:06:14 UTC

@Luso Yeh

2020-11-02 01:06:19 UTC

afaik

2020-11-02 01:06:56 UTC

Any TPUSA familiar people in the server?

2020-11-02 01:07:28 UTC

Does the organization give specific instructions on what to "look out for"?

2020-11-02 01:08:29 UTC

well.... considering that the TPUSA name and stuff is likely copyrighted any group claiming to be a TPUSA group could be liable for defamation

2020-11-02 01:10:08 UTC

But I mean do they give their student leaders instructions on what opinions are "naughty" and to prevent America First rhetoric? Like that kind of stuff?

2020-11-02 01:11:01 UTC

I mean.... if there are they are rather lax given that my local one is run by a pro-choice libertarian

2020-11-02 01:11:30 UTC

No I mean in the opposite way

2020-11-02 01:11:56 UTC

Like preventing AF conservatives from getting into positions of leadership

2020-11-02 01:12:05 UTC

And using AF rhetoric

2020-11-02 01:12:24 UTC

Im looking at the TPUSA site rn

2020-11-02 01:15:19 UTC

@Luso According to this: https://www.tpusa.com/chaptercharteragreement

Chapter Code of Conduct

TPUSA chapters are expected to adhere to the following conduct expectations:

TPUSA chapters may never endorse any candidates running for public office. Leaders of the chapter may endorse candidates in their personal time, but may not do so on behalf of the chapter.
TPUSA chapters may never campaign for political candidates or aid political campaigns in any manner (donate money, recruit campaign volunteers, etc.). Leaders of the chapter may do these activities in their personal time, but may not do so on behalf of the chapter.
TPUSA chapters may never host a speaker on campus without approval from TPUSA’s national headquarters. The application to host a speaker can be found at www.tpusa.com/RequestASpeaker.

***AND ALSO***

Right to Disassociation

If this chapter is found to be operating outside of the guidelines outlined by Turning Point USA, and/or leaders or members of the chapter participate in activities or demonstrate conduct deemed inappropriate by Turning Point USA, TPUSA reserves the right to disassociate with the chapter and revoke the group’s right to operate under the TPUSA name.

2020-11-02 01:16:03 UTC

So basically if turning point found out we were using TPUSA name to spread AF ideas they would shut it down

2020-11-02 01:16:31 UTC

Oh ic

2020-11-02 01:16:54 UTC

Interesting

2020-11-02 01:16:58 UTC

now, their rules dont explicitly say that but they could easily do that

2020-11-02 01:18:01 UTC

I'm not a big fan of *that* kind of infiltration anyway
