nah discord is only for things not related to my real identity

the whole protocol seems gimped af to me

they wanted to make a bridge system and ended up putting an own messaging protocol layer on top for business reasons

also they are reports that hangouts is going away

zulip might be too nerdy for many tho

I use Discord and FB Messenger/Telegram among my friends so I don't really have this problem

FBM is real botnet but the Lite mobile app is quite good and the social features are a major plus

You can plan events and check who's coming, send updates, etc

tfw almost all communities im part of are in discord

and most of important friends too

IRC has some in emerency

Also zoomer meme hours my close friends talk exclusively using fucking Snapchat group chat

It's terrible but it works tm

and if i ever happen to have video chats its appear.in for me

even tho i dont agree with their latest reforms of the service

(they require sign up for new rooms where before the room was just generated when you wrote something after the url

joining pre-generated rooms still is possible as guest tho
