maybe it's a bad unit

2019-03-04 08:10:09 UTC

Every PC I've had until now has had mind-numbing little issues that make you wonder how they get sold. Like my Sony Vaio Duo 13 would blue screen trying to connect Bluetooth audio. It was a driver conflict between Broadcom and Windows 10 and both parties pointed the finger at each other until support for the chipset was dropped outright. Otherwise was a great pc. <:thvnk:332928260004642827>

look at this cute little motherboard

2019-03-04 08:10:57 UTC

how could you be angry at that?!?!

2019-03-04 08:11:25 UTC

The Lenovo x230T I used before that could technically boot from an mSATA drive...every 20th boot it would fail to detect the drive PERMANENTLY, unless you could boot from the regular full-size hard drive.

2019-03-04 08:11:41 UTC

I'm sure it's a bad board.

2019-03-04 08:12:00 UTC

Or HP is faggots and tell me that's how it works 😂 🔫

2019-03-04 08:13:11 UTC

The first laptop I owned, a tx2z, was known to desolder itself from the absurd heat the GPU and CPU could output. One heatpipe, and a stack of copper>aluminum shim>thermal pad to the GPU. Hilarious.

2019-03-04 08:13:40 UTC

Find me one laptop that doesn't have some absurd pile of fuck in its feature set, I dare you.

2019-03-04 08:14:49 UTC

I actually think this is an RMA issue; I have literally never heard of a computer with this issue and I can't find any owners talking about this issue with my PC.

2019-03-04 08:15:46 UTC

I've had this issue on my laptop

2019-03-04 08:16:15 UTC

I was the one motherfucker dumb enough to buy an Alienware M11xR3 back in the day and that shit had terrible audio noise floor when the GPU was in use

2019-03-04 08:16:26 UTC

My lappy reboots randomly

2019-03-04 08:16:29 UTC

so I had to always use a USB DAC with it otherwise everything sounded like ass

2019-03-04 08:16:44 UTC

Dell came and replaced the board and everything was good again though

2019-03-04 08:16:44 UTC

based

2019-03-04 08:17:29 UTC

Bro, you don't build a desktop PC and skip having a sound card. I mean, I know they aren't in vogue but still. It's like the LCD that mounts on the front of your case and reports core temp. It's just a thing you're supposed to do.

2019-03-04 08:18:12 UTC

@Postretrofuturism Feels bad, man.

2019-03-04 08:19:20 UTC

hopefully im not as unlucky for my next laptop

2019-03-04 08:19:32 UTC

my hp 2570p has been rock fucking solid for the 2 years ive had it

2019-03-04 08:19:59 UTC

and when I mean rock solid I mean I can't upgrade the BIOS to fix bugs because I get the WiFi whitelist back

2019-03-04 08:21:11 UTC

Why bother with a different wireless card? There some special feature you wanted?

2019-03-04 08:21:26 UTC

@sum Go jerk to anime someplace else <:turt:443131018950606878>

2019-03-04 08:21:36 UTC

Go tech support someplace else

2019-03-04 08:21:44 UTC

<:turt:443131018950606878>

2019-03-04 08:26:55 UTC

@Droidbot Why the wireless card change?

2019-03-04 08:30:38 UTC

I have WiFi AC and do file tfrs over the network, but stock card is N

2019-03-04 08:32:50 UTC

Aah, and that stupid whitelist shit. <:thonk:288060975775612929>

2019-03-04 08:33:37 UTC

Doesn't a custom flash of a rom require a pinout connection to the chip where the BIOS is stored?

2019-03-04 08:38:02 UTC

Can't custom flash

2019-03-04 08:38:27 UTC

HP BIOS is stored in a container that's AES-256 encrypted (iirc?)

2019-03-04 08:39:38 UTC

You just said whitelist though, which you couldn't clear without flashing a list-free version <:thinkjojo:333980344044879872>

2019-03-04 09:00:17 UTC

It's broken in certain firmware releases

2019-03-04 09:00:24 UTC

Based HP engineers broke it and then fixed it

2019-03-04 09:12:30 UTC

b a s e d running your PC on a bugged bios for fun 😂 Now you just have to install some meme Linux distro and get caught sharing cheese pizza over your h3LLa-5ycc ac connection

2019-03-04 09:15:20 UTC

hell yeah

2019-03-04 09:15:24 UTC

nah i run windows on it

2019-03-04 09:15:42 UTC

intel wifi works about as well as a chocolate teapot in linux
