Ok so now I'm tempted to buy another piston 3 and hybrids

2016-06-17 18:49:54 UTC

i did that before i got the pin

2016-06-17 18:50:03 UTC

and if amd offered similar certs i'd do it

2016-06-17 18:50:07 UTC

but they don't have a pin

2016-06-17 18:50:13 UTC

wait tho

2016-06-17 18:50:20 UTC

you said you're buying a 470

2016-06-17 18:50:31 UTC

you're not a real intel + nvidia shill at all!!

2016-06-17 18:50:40 UTC

i would reccommend a mobile intel chip over an amd mobile chip

2016-06-17 18:50:45 UTC

i mostly sell laptops

2016-06-17 18:50:49 UTC

"Don't break the status quo, there might be issues :^)"

2016-06-17 18:51:07 UTC

AMD hasn't updated their processors in years as far as I know

2016-06-17 18:51:10 UTC

amd mobile chips are power hungry and perform below their intel equals

2016-06-17 18:51:13 UTC

exactly

2016-06-17 18:51:24 UTC

thanks to Intel jewing them hard at every time

2016-06-17 18:51:25 UTC

turn*

2016-06-17 18:51:30 UTC

i'm gonna tell people to get the newer, faster chip for the same price

2016-06-17 18:51:33 UTC

reading that history is insane

2016-06-17 18:51:38 UTC

how Intel fucked their competition

2016-06-17 18:52:27 UTC

this is the most amazing story

2016-06-17 18:52:37 UTC

i'll have to read that after work

2016-06-17 18:52:44 UTC

i lowkey need to go now :/

2016-06-17 18:52:59 UTC

Can you guess why? Because Intel paid PC manufacturers out of its own pocket for years to not buy AMD's chips. Although they were faster, manufacturers went with the bribe because the amount they made from that outweighed the amount they get from happy customers buying their powerful computers. And thus, the industry began to stagnate a bit with CPUs not really moving forward as quickly. They also attacked all existing AMD chips by sabotaging their compiler, making it intentionally run slower on all existing and future AMD chips. Not just temporarily, but permanently; all versions of software created with that version of the compiler will forever run worse on AMD chips, even in 2020 (and yes, some benchmark tools infected with it are still used today!).

2016-06-17 18:53:31 UTC

Ugh

2016-06-17 18:53:41 UTC

That reminds me of there once was a man

2016-06-17 18:53:57 UTC

the last AMD chip I had was a 1090T and I liked it

2016-06-17 18:54:00 UTC

Where people would try to stop technology from evolving

2016-06-17 18:54:23 UTC

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103849 for whatever reason this was in a 2011 prebuilt

2016-06-17 18:55:44 UTC

i was an ape when i built my pc, by all rights it shouldn't work but it does

2016-06-17 18:55:51 UTC

>had a prebuild in 2011
>that means he only recently moved to building his own

2016-06-17 18:56:03 UTC

2016-06-17 18:56:09 UTC

and had to straighten them with plyers
