also @Phatique they need at LEAST two hours of time out of the cage and time spent socialising with you

you interacting with them

socialising is very important to them a lot like dogs

our first bird Archie turned on her past owner because she got a new full time job and didn't bother interactng anymore

so Archie held a grudge and pecked the fuck out of her

we bring the bird in and she got a fresh start, very sweet and loving

so yeah, they look to you for companionship and they'll get depressed and angry if you're not there for them

birds that are fed by humans and not other birds from birth naturally love humans

pet shop birds tend to be feral

one of ours is hand reared ,the other is wild raised

they're completely different

one loves humans and wants to be around them, the other is cautious and scared all the time

if all they've known is their bird parents then they'll never trust humans, it's pretty much like catching a seagull and bringing it into the house
