I have a subpar board with shitty caps and switches already

Mechanical keyboards are super fucking pricey but that's the hobby

Some custom boards run over 500

chinks changed all that really

you can't expect people to go after the $300 boards if chinks make a $40 one

same reason people buy a $15 watch instead of the $400 original

most people don't know enough about mechs, watches, sunglasses, micro sd cards to give a fuck

they just know they saved money

they can get a lower quality slice of the experience

of the full priced thing

it's like anything, a meme occurs, introductory enthusiast pricing to get richfags in, the richfags boast about their expensive toys, demand rises, savvy businessmen notice and make cheaper versions, the first few attempts suck

then by the end there's a near reproduction for 1/10 of the price
