and camera.
cameras are at a level where they cant improve any longer without advances in lens technology
or making the lens bigger sacrificing the size of the phone
Of course, but the chinks can work on putting better cameras in their phones, while keeping the price low.
requires more resources
chinks just need to steal the blueprints
@tablecat >I don't want to carry around a DSLR
Don't, carry around anything from a used some years old high end compact to a MILC and you'll pretty much have DSLR quality that's somewhat pocketable
(pro) Cameras are at a level now that is incredible yet slightly flawed. Resolution is like Anon123 said absurdly high, so high that it's more than all but the sharpest high quality (and priced) lenses can't handle it. Some niche cameras are literally near military nightvision tier in light gathering - though never combined with high resolution. In-body that works really well stabilisation is also somewhat newly developed yet fucking amazing. Question is how miniaturising this will go. As far as I'm concerned phone cameras have all the resolution they deserve, and the view should be shifted towards larger photon receptors or whatever it's called so that the low light performance is dramatically improved.
But sensor technology and high end lens manufacturing is far too complex for chinks, even if the could get ahold of the blueprints.
Hell my phone pics take forever to upload already. I dont need 20mp images
Downscale them and they'll look sharper
Most phones now have higher resolution than their lens can actually provide. Hence why it looks a bit blurry at 100%
Eh, most of the blurrines in my photos comes from shaky hands and hdr
Right
Dynamic range can and should be improved too
No more faking it
Then you'd want a camera with a laser auto focus
No, but phase detection :^)
If you can't keep it stable for long, you want something that snaps shots quickly
Helps if you frequently take shots from a bike or similar, too
Autofocus isn't much of an issue with phone cameras since the sensor is so tiny the lens has such a short focal length it has a very deep DoF / hyperfocal
Though if the sensor size grows with the obvious quality improvement that gives, focus could become more of an issue
I have a g3, wich has shitty dynamic range no matter what
Think Nokia, Sony and Zeiss teamed up to make what was pretty much a miniature high end compact camera within a phone
But it had windows OS so no one bought it
Fuck I have to leave work in 20min, must finish work now~
Right, that Windows Phone one with a huge ass chassis
And it had a fat hump on the back to contain the sensor and lens
In 5 or so years Sony might have figured out how to make tiny sensors capture light efficiently, that'll be when most compact cameras turn pointless
Deapite Nokia + Zeiss efforts with their 42 megapixel monstrosity, **no one** has made a phone camera worth a damn in low light as far as I know
Afaik the v10 did pretty good in low light, but I dont follow phone crap much....
Supposedly the Samsung S7 has the best low-light phone camera
No clue what the standard is, though
Sony A7S 💪
That goes for what, 2k bucks?
Think I saw one of those at a B&H
Tfw cleaning period blood off the floor for 9$ an hour
there a size guide to buying clothes?
usually order a size or two up from your actual size
don't buy chink fashion
as it turns out its cheaper on amazon
3.50 for the same thing where as on ali its £7
