Oh yeah
It was the other way around.
I remember the threads and how the pi people shilled the zero.
But with that said, the CHIP uses R8 CPU, I'd go with a H3
now they released an arm64 budget CPU too
Eh, I'll probably go with an Orange Pi PC for emulation.
be careful about support
Link to that budget cpu?
Support? Why.
Raspi has awesome software support
Does the Orange Pi implode often or?
people here are mostly making kernel by community effort
the reason I recommend the H3 is this in particular
Mainline status
U-Boot already supports the H3 SoC at least since 2016.01-rc3 and has defconfigs for Orange Pi PC and Xunlong Orange Pi Plus boards.
Also initial H3 patches have been submitted to the mainline kernel, but have not landed yet. Currently you can find the patches in the arm-linux mailing list, or alternatively in one of the work-in-progress kernel forks:
Its the only newer chink SoC which are abotu guaranteed to have a mainline kernel push
Oh, that's cool.
Well, you said 15 bucks, right?
Do you know where I can find a nice case for it?
I would just take their bundle, I ordered the one with case, USB to DC-IN cable and the board
From Ali?
yeah, the package was quite smashed up
but it was packed in anti-static and no pins had any damage
been running for months, at first I was a tad bit scared
I dont think GB is gonna sell that any cheaper
than on ali
You also need a HQ flash card, have a shark? You'll be safe
I have 32 gb micro sd laying around
I ain't gonna use my 128 shark on a micro pc.
haha ofc not
Haha
I use 16gb one more than enough
What do you do with it?
runs NAS
Basically the thing has above 5 TB storage hooked up
so flash memory isnt my biggest worry
Ah fuck
If I wanted I could format the sdcard to just be a boot partition
and boot it up from the hard drive
yeah that works perfectly fine
