I think I exceeded the 8GBs on my A10 HP laptop by about 4GBs when I tried hosting a minecraft server on it

and the 12gb of ram just makes me scratch my head

if your laptop is easy to dissasemble I would definitely suggest looking into replacing the thermal paste on it
