2016-08-22 18:42:34 UTC

I got this sudden urge to try Kubuntu

2016-08-22 18:42:44 UTC

Don't, Cat.

2016-08-22 18:42:46 UTC

Try Xubuntu

2016-08-22 18:47:49 UTC

Cubuntu is okay, downloaded the most recent version which came in French by default. Took me a while to get it to English since my keyboard was also formatted in French.

2016-08-22 18:48:25 UTC

auto installing locales

2016-08-22 18:48:27 UTC

wooow

2016-08-22 18:53:35 UTC

Ubuntu is babbys first Linux, and cubuntu is just an Ubuntu package with a bunch of pre-installed software and ui options. It happens to be made by baguettes, so the latest version is always in French by default.

2016-08-22 18:54:36 UTC

Buy yeah, would have been nice to have a prompt to select those settings from the start.

2016-08-22 18:55:22 UTC

I don't understand where did this babby's first linux meme come from

2016-08-22 18:55:35 UTC

Make it seem like you "graduate" from distro

2016-08-22 18:55:37 UTC

Ubuntu

2016-08-22 18:55:43 UTC

There you go

2016-08-22 18:55:56 UTC

That's why

2016-08-22 18:56:01 UTC

Pretty much.

2016-08-22 18:56:21 UTC

There are a bucnh of people that install Ubuntu as their first venture into Linux

2016-08-22 18:56:24 UTC

that's not a lie

2016-08-22 18:56:26 UTC

It is cozy as fuck though, and the default video drivers were better than windows surprisingly.

2016-08-22 18:56:39 UTC

ayy lmao

2016-08-22 18:56:41 UTC

It just works without any hassle

2016-08-22 18:56:46 UTC

Hardware drivers and shit

2016-08-22 18:56:56 UTC

Like I think my screen tearing Debian install

2016-08-22 18:57:02 UTC

would not have tearing on Ubuntu

2016-08-22 18:57:18 UTC

I tried ubuntu 16.04 and screen teared when scrolled down

2016-08-22 18:57:26 UTC

2016-08-22 18:57:31 UTC

Didn't have screen orientation options by default, though. Holy he'll.

2016-08-22 18:57:41 UTC

DPI is the best

2016-08-22 18:57:50 UTC

Trying to adjust DPI in Xfce

2016-08-22 18:57:54 UTC

oh yeah that was amazing scaling

2016-08-22 18:57:58 UTC

2016-08-22 18:58:06 UTC

2016-08-22 18:58:15 UTC

It's either too small or big as fuck

2016-08-22 18:58:37 UTC

probably possible to adjust in xrandr

2016-08-22 18:58:43 UTC

Haha, yeah. Try a 4k screen.

2016-08-22 18:58:56 UTC

When will Linux be good?

2016-08-22 18:59:17 UTC
