You find that transferring files can take ages with shitty I/O sceduler
because that shit actually cares about having your GUI going smoothly while transferring
this one gives two shits and just uses everything to transfer
You guys have any experience with installing OSX or linux on a macbook?
It will work but the bootloader for dual boot looks ugly, I used refid or something
Dont install linux
I recommend just using OSX on it
the new ones are free
It sucks battery like dong mongler
Mac uses nonfree battery optimisations that linux doesnt work with
Aha..
Unless you use a hard realtime kernel
Well, It's the old 2007-2008 macbook black.
I think it can only run Snow Leopard or Maverick.
I could be wrong, though.
Snew leper
snæw læpurd
I updated a snow leopart to Yosemite
but the drivers for touchepad said bye bye
What hardware did it have?
I did a clean install in CLI or something, hardware? No idea. a free macbook I got
Snow leopard to yosemite
Holy fucking shit what a mistake
It worked
Yeah
Just update it to Mavericks.
I would've done that.
but is that free?
Yosemite is buggiest and slowest of all macOs versions
I did some shit with the store to download it free and executed some stuff to wipe it clean
Well, I'm talking back in time
I wanted to just wipe it and update
Ofc now that that exists
but back then it didn't
Thos macbooks cannae run anything good. Best bet is buy a new battery and update to latest supported apple os
Update to mavericks if you can
Old macbooks don't do well on yosemite not even new ones do
They eventually fixed it on el capitan
Le Capitan.
why not update to el capitan
