There are cheaper options

2016-08-31 17:21:17 UTC

and all those tiny fucking 'apartments' are fucking rooms in a bigger apartment

2016-08-31 17:21:19 UTC

which is bullshit

2016-08-31 17:21:48 UTC

also, you say he's working as an engineer

2016-08-31 17:22:15 UTC

if you mean actual engineer and not totalbullshit "I can tighten a screw" engineer, he should be more than able to comfily afford a 3 room apt at least

2016-08-31 17:22:23 UTC

Nono

2016-08-31 17:22:34 UTC

I'm not talking about HIS living circumstances

2016-08-31 17:22:40 UTC

ah lel

2016-08-31 17:22:41 UTC

I'm just saying that he constructs those things

2016-08-31 17:23:15 UTC

Cause supposedly, his city is filled with old buildings

2016-08-31 17:23:24 UTC

And they don't wanna tear those down/renovate those

2016-08-31 17:23:31 UTC

every city in switzerland is filled with old buildings they don't want to tear down

2016-08-31 17:23:32 UTC

And the center is super fucking packed

2016-08-31 17:23:48 UTC

So the best solution is to bring in portable/small options

2016-08-31 17:23:55 UTC

still hipster as fuck

2016-08-31 17:24:33 UTC

welp, just for reference, I'll start working in a month, recently graduated my EE apprenticeship, now going on to study EE in uni. Working 60% alongside 50% uni as an EE - 2700€ a month, double salary in december

2016-08-31 17:24:50 UTC

and that's as a measly fucking student

2016-08-31 17:25:15 UTC

my friend who graduated ETH last year got 7k€/month starting

2016-08-31 17:25:45 UTC

is it worth spending 150ish bucks doing work to my old studio 1747

2016-08-31 17:25:59 UTC

or should i save and buy a memepad

2016-08-31 17:26:14 UTC

murrica or yurop?

2016-08-31 17:26:57 UTC

if murrica, an entire T420/x220 would be cheaper than your repair on your laptop

2016-08-31 17:27:00 UTC

bc my old studios p legit just needs a kb and battery

2016-08-31 17:27:14 UTC

and its got specs that still r decentish today

2016-08-31 17:28:16 UTC

@uberrice 50%, eh?

2016-08-31 17:28:33 UTC

Most people just do 100% and aim to graduate in 3 years

2016-08-31 17:28:42 UTC

It's honestly the more focused approach

2016-08-31 17:30:04 UTC

I think the interest rate is 0.6%, so people don't necessarily need to rush a job to maintain their rent

2016-08-31 17:30:08 UTC

But most just don't wanna spend too much

2016-08-31 17:30:16 UTC

They'd rather spend it on more important stuff

2016-08-31 17:30:21 UTC

Like beer and hookers

2016-08-31 17:33:44 UTC

Yeah

2016-08-31 17:44:57 UTC

well, @Aerione , it's a special concept that's applicable because we have apprenticeships. I'm working as an EE, as I already graduated the apprenticeship, so I learn practical knowledge, and I get free credits because of that

2016-08-31 17:45:02 UTC

I'll be done in 4 years instead of 3

2016-08-31 17:45:28 UTC

which I don't think is bad at all since I have 4 years / 2.4 or something years 'full time' work experience by then

2016-08-31 17:45:54 UTC

Well, I guess that's applicable for the more practical specializations

2016-08-31 17:46:17 UTC

you can only even do that if you completed an apprenticeship before

2016-08-31 17:46:46 UTC

I already have an EE certificate - I won't be doing intern jobs or anything, I got hired as a full fledged electrical engineer

2016-08-31 17:46:54 UTC

Yeah

2016-08-31 17:46:55 UTC

I'll just get to a higher level of knowledge through uni

2016-08-31 17:46:56 UTC

Still
