everthing is fine here.

2016-10-31 18:04:48 UTC

also

2016-10-31 18:05:32 UTC

found out that the rn3p (even though it says it does) does *not* support the bands required for 4g access on telus

2016-10-31 18:07:35 UTC

nobody's made a list of usb dacs and the chipsets that enable them or nething like that right

2016-10-31 18:09:40 UTC

uwot

2016-10-31 18:11:28 UTC

i want a usb dac and wish to make a decision that is powered by facts and not how the case looks or whatever chink labels were slapped on the case because those literally mean nothing

2016-10-31 18:11:40 UTC

how much do you want to spend?

2016-10-31 18:11:51 UTC

and i want to spend as little money as possibru <$30

2016-10-31 18:12:08 UTC

righto

2016-10-31 18:12:11 UTC

one sec

2016-10-31 18:12:42 UTC

i know fiio e10k is gud and i actually have one as reference but I'm buying stocking stuffers for the fams

2016-10-31 18:12:45 UTC

inb4 cheapskate

2016-10-31 18:13:06 UTC

SMSL dac/amps > fiio

2016-10-31 18:13:47 UTC

if you can find any usb DACs that have the PCM2704 chip that have capacitors that keep your headphones from dying, theyre a good buy

2016-10-31 18:13:56 UTC

i'd take one with a mini or printer-type usb port and on that property alone vs microusb

2016-10-31 18:14:14 UTC

english pls

2016-10-31 18:14:14 UTC

i'll take a look at smsl thx

2016-10-31 18:14:25 UTC

oh no SMSL dacs arent under 30

2016-10-31 18:14:34 UTC

i was just shitposting about your e10k

2016-10-31 18:14:47 UTC

yeah seems like the better dacs have that chip

2016-10-31 18:14:55 UTC

better *cheap* DACs [fixed]

2016-10-31 18:15:07 UTC

yeah its quite a good chip

2016-10-31 18:15:13 UTC

Texas Instruments

2016-10-31 18:15:25 UTC

but i was wondering about alternatives

2016-10-31 18:15:39 UTC

There is some Sabre DAC chip which apparently god tier but i can only find them as a unit for around 40 USD

2016-10-31 18:16:06 UTC

if you want a good solution, look into the Behringer UCA 222

2016-10-31 18:16:18 UTC

its an audio interface but that may be helpful

2016-10-31 18:16:22 UTC

I'll upgrade to English; given equivalent usb DACs, I would steer towards devices with more robust connection options, such as mini-b usb.

2016-10-31 18:16:51 UTC

how is a mini USB any better than fullsize type A

2016-10-31 18:17:06 UTC

Micro-USB places a great deal of stock into the two spring-loaded teeth on their connectors, that may fail to lock over time, which I do not like.

2016-10-31 18:17:18 UTC

micro USB a shit tbh
