learn c++ proper
or learn java proper if i'm cucked beyond belief and get into android dev
tbh id learn C#
because xamarin
i'm good at conceptualising and the higher level i guess
if that makes sense
i'd get into cybersecurity and pentesting and i'd even be tempted to take a degree for it but i doubt that shit will stay the same in the next 5 years
so my degree will be null and void unless i actively study the field
i'm better off self-learning as far as that shit goes
networking maint. might be more stable
it's why i'm kinda comfy with higher level langs like visual basic but get cucked with something like python
@Deleted User i'm doing a BTEC rn for CS which is hardware oriented, the software oriented course is kinda trash
like, it has some bullshit units that aren't really relevant like graphic design or w/e
also the uni offers a vidya design degree too and it's such trash
all of the videogames are steam mixed review unity games
grossly uninspired
you have to be a fucking savant to even stand a chance on the indie scene
or hope you will suck dick hard enough in the AAA to get some trash job
it actually pisses me off to no end because people play fucking trash vidya and aspire to be alike trash
and then we have hacks pooling into the AAA industry
or people trying to scrape to pay bills and live on fucking chef boyardee and top ramen with mixed review steam games made in Unity with stolen assets
this is the fucking generation of indie devs
that fucking hair

it's a sad day for humanity if python is considered a low-level language
kids nowadays think if something runs daemonized on a server, it's "low level"
doesn't help that the industry values time to market above all else
that's okay-dokay with me until the chinks finally take over everything
because we made the bar so fucking low
</oldfagrant>
there was a time when C was considered really fucking high level trash
so idk
(the compilers sucked and stuff spun at 4.72MHz so)
i get that but it's more that education doesn't know how to teach CS on the same level as we teach, say, chemistry
we've proven that we suck at empowering people to be well-informed enough so they don't get cucked by marketing
if people actually paid attention in their science courses, half the products out there wouldn't exist.
the world would be amazingly better off if everyone knew just a little bit of scripting-sans-datastructures to speed up their lives, and stuff like IFTTT tries to do that valiently sorta, but nah it's all for naught
and CS is a horrible holding pen for a horribly wide field
just on a more personal level, I'm seeing candidates come through the door being more and more removed from reality every day, because of the opposing forces of trying to make things more accessible but still maintain quality, and tbh the fail is winning.
