my xperia z3 is good enoughfor the shitposting i do

2016-11-19 20:32:28 UTC

or was

2016-11-19 20:32:50 UTC

ill probably need a decent camera for video once i start my shitty toob channel

2016-11-19 20:34:08 UTC

gotta go pick up some headphones in like two hours anyway

2016-11-19 20:35:10 UTC

I like old sanyo xacti's, the ones with the bigass lenses like the VPC-HD1010 for video

2016-11-19 20:35:33 UTC

they have also no motion compensation and low light performance is kinda shit but they work fine in a well lit tripod env

2016-11-19 20:36:02 UTC

i need to actually save up for a new pc too

2016-11-19 20:36:15 UTC

since i want to play planet coaster but the minimum specs on that shit are fuckin insane

2016-11-19 20:39:26 UTC

seems like a game made by old (or new) Disney Coaster enthusiasts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LKVvHyQv_4

2016-11-19 20:39:40 UTC

it's good that games are insane spec cause it means they're targeting for years ahead

2016-11-19 20:39:59 UTC

if a game just looks passably good when it comes out then it's gonna look like shiet quick

2016-11-19 20:41:19 UTC

That thinkpad handled that giant magnet pretty well tbh

2016-11-19 20:41:44 UTC

Makes me a lot less paranoid around magnets

2016-11-19 20:42:57 UTC

Welcome <@240956801393098753>!

2016-11-19 20:47:03 UTC

magents are specially nasty to HDD because of them fucking with the METAL platters and the 0's and 1's engraved in them.

2016-11-19 20:47:58 UTC

yeah the hdd is obvious but interesting to see that the field did nothing to any of the dram banks

2016-11-19 20:49:11 UTC

the rest of the tech doesn't involve magneting around so they're safe against that beast

2016-11-19 20:49:36 UTC

relatively so at least

2016-11-19 20:50:14 UTC

the culture of no magnets around stuff is super pervasive

2016-11-19 20:53:17 UTC

that was years ago imo

2016-11-19 20:54:11 UTC

anyways, i should look for USB cables, will any of them do?

2016-11-19 20:54:39 UTC

loaded question heh

2016-11-19 20:54:53 UTC

huh?

2016-11-19 20:54:54 UTC

i think you're mostly safe except for usb-c

2016-11-19 20:55:06 UTC

chinks still have problems figuring that beast out

2016-11-19 20:55:33 UTC

it's just ordinary usb im looking for.

2016-11-19 20:56:07 UTC

any of them are fine; if they fail it's usually at the solder junction between the port and the cable

2016-11-19 20:56:24 UTC

not gonna fry your stuff

2016-11-19 20:56:33 UTC

i like the wind up ones but they'll break if you unwind them uncorrectly

2016-11-19 20:56:35 UTC

thats good to hear at least

2016-11-19 20:57:41 UTC

i take the cheapo cables that fail and resolder them, then reinforce the junction with a spring and heatshrink

2016-11-19 20:57:58 UTC

have a couple that are reinforced and you should never need anymore in your EDC bag

2016-11-19 20:58:25 UTC

chink braided cables are usually pretty good

2016-11-19 20:58:39 UTC

i have some nice 1.5m audio cables that ive had for a while

2016-11-19 20:58:46 UTC

i bought one at dollar tree yesterday lol

2016-11-19 20:58:59 UTC

i have this

2016-11-19 20:59:06 UTC

prety good

2016-11-19 20:59:27 UTC

wish they sold ones that terminated in 3.5 male on one end, and 6.3 male on the other end

2016-11-19 20:59:28 UTC

it does the usb stuff well, like being made out of metal and being able to transfer electrons

2016-11-19 21:00:08 UTC

thats always a good bonus feature
