are there any real deals in these sales?

2016-11-29 02:33:10 UTC

all the prices look like the same

2016-11-29 02:33:57 UTC

It's hard to tell with most stuff, but the [chinese] brand name stuff is noticably cheaper.

2016-11-29 02:34:33 UTC

I've found a handful of deals in the laptops

2016-11-29 02:34:48 UTC

which site?

2016-11-29 02:35:10 UTC

Aliexpress

2016-11-29 02:35:27 UTC

Gearbest has some deals, but I don't trust them.

2016-11-29 02:37:24 UTC

are these just tablets with keyboards stuck to them?

2016-11-29 02:37:46 UTC

Most chinktops are.

2016-11-29 02:38:00 UTC

that's not even unusual

2016-11-29 02:38:27 UTC

No. The difference in hardware for laptops and tablets is blurring.

2016-11-29 02:38:47 UTC

interesting

2016-11-29 02:38:57 UTC

none with dedicated gpu im sure...

2016-11-29 02:39:07 UTC

There are a few.

2016-11-29 02:39:08 UTC

imagine how hot that bitch would get

2016-11-29 02:39:09 UTC

You will pay more.

2016-11-29 02:41:56 UTC

The issue with dedicated GPUs is that the chinese companies pay roughly the same as american ones for the hardware, so you can't get that great of a deal.

2016-11-29 02:42:11 UTC

That one is pretty cool, but the specs sound a bit 'too good'

2016-11-29 02:42:17 UTC

whys that?

2016-11-29 02:42:48 UTC

my dad used to say that the dudes who wrote the drivers for GPUs where like nazi scientists

2016-11-29 02:42:52 UTC

Don't forget, gearbest tend to chink many times.

2016-11-29 02:42:55 UTC

maybe thats not true anymore

2016-11-29 02:42:59 UTC

It's a $700 laptop with dual GTX 950ms.

2016-11-29 02:43:03 UTC

What?

2016-11-29 02:43:22 UTC

like there werent very many people that could do it

2016-11-29 02:43:41 UTC

It's all assembly programming, which is notoriously complex.

2016-11-29 02:44:13 UTC

dual GTX 950M ? Sounds strange

2016-11-29 02:44:30 UTC

That's what I was thinking, IDK if the 950M even supports SLI.

2016-11-29 02:45:21 UTC

The easiest way to spot a chinese laptop is that case. Even some of the name brands use it on their cheaper models. I had a Sager a few years back that was identical to this thing.

2016-11-29 02:46:25 UTC

And drivers are basically written in C and assembler, yeah. But I didn't understood why that was questionned ?

2016-11-29 02:46:45 UTC

I mean, in that case it's the work of Novidya and Aymd

2016-11-29 02:47:08 UTC

The 950m does not even support SLi

2016-11-29 02:47:24 UTC

If you were to buy it, you'd be getting chinked

2016-11-29 02:47:43 UTC

so why can't the chinks produce cheaper graphics cards then?

2016-11-29 02:48:22 UTC

The GPU chips are made by NVIDIA or AMD. The manufacturers just make the boards and stuff.

2016-11-29 02:48:43 UTC

They make custom PCB basically.

2016-11-29 02:49:03 UTC

They can chink out on the hardware, but still have to pay for the GPUs. I'm not sure what their pricing is on them, it's one of those trade secret things that doesn't get released.

2016-11-29 02:49:03 UTC

I though there was some chink brands for GPU.

2016-11-29 02:49:08 UTC

Oh there are.
