all the prices look like the same
It's hard to tell with most stuff, but the [chinese] brand name stuff is noticably cheaper.

The issue with dedicated GPUs is that the chinese companies pay roughly the same as american ones for the hardware, so you can't get that great of a deal.
That one is pretty cool, but the specs sound a bit 'too good'

It's all assembly programming, which is notoriously complex.

The easiest way to spot a chinese laptop is that case. Even some of the name brands use it on their cheaper models. I had a Sager a few years back that was identical to this thing.
And drivers are basically written in C and assembler, yeah. But I didn't understood why that was questionned ?

The GPU chips are made by NVIDIA or AMD. The manufacturers just make the boards and stuff.
They make custom PCB basically.
They can chink out on the hardware, but still have to pay for the GPUs. I'm not sure what their pricing is on them, it's one of those trade secret things that doesn't get released.
