He will say that it is needed. He doesn't mind spending money. It's ''free as in freedom'' rather than free of cost.

2016-12-19 02:56:36 UTC

He's the sort of person who will pay more at a supermarket just so he doesn't have to have a loyalty card

2016-12-19 02:57:03 UTC

Or eat his foot cheese for the extra calories

2016-12-19 02:57:35 UTC

He has to get his cheese and mushroom topping from somewhere

2016-12-19 02:58:07 UTC

What does RMS think of the raspberry pi?

2016-12-19 02:59:38 UTC

I purposely said linux instead of gnu/linux

2016-12-19 02:59:51 UTC

He apparently talks about it in that

2016-12-19 03:00:33 UTC

I am not on vacation, but I am at the end of a long time delay. I am
located somewhere on Earth, but as far as responding to email is concerned,
I appear to be at the edge of the solar system.

After your message arrives at gnu.org, I will collect it in my next batch of
incoming mail, some time within the following 24 hours. I will spend much of
the following day reading that batch of mail and will come across your
message at some point. If I write a response immediately, it will go out in
the next outgoing batch--typically around 24 hours after I collected your
message, but occasionally sooner or later than that. Please expect a minimum
delay of between 24 and 48 hours in receiving a response to your mail to me.

If your message is hard to understand or responding takes real work,
the response could take longer.

So please wait 48 hours after sending a message before you resend it,
remind me about it, or ask if I have received it. If it has been less
than 48 hours, the absence of a response from me only means you have not
given me time to answer.

If you are having a conversation with me, please keep in mind that each
message you receive from me is a response to the mail you sent 24 to 48 hours
earlier, and when writing it, I probably had not yet downloaded your later
mail.

lel

2016-12-19 03:01:07 UTC

He can't just say "i'm gonna take a while to respond to gnu/emails?"

2016-12-19 03:01:31 UTC

His fanbase has autism, so they need every little bit of detail

2016-12-19 03:01:54 UTC

RMS runs autism/gnu/linux

2016-12-19 03:03:48 UTC

What's the deal with all of the orange pi models? are any of them x86? Are there any x86 chink SBCs?

2016-12-19 03:05:10 UTC

They all still seem to be ARM.

2016-12-19 03:05:14 UTC

oh

2016-12-19 03:05:31 UTC

The wide variery is people trying to cash in on the craze

2016-12-19 03:05:51 UTC

I mean you can buy one on Ali for under $10

2016-12-19 03:06:27 UTC

what's the most powerful one they have?

2016-12-19 03:07:26 UTC

Probably something like that one

2016-12-19 03:09:18 UTC

Both seem to be similar

2016-12-19 03:10:49 UTC

the 49 one has an extra usb port

2016-12-19 03:20:43 UTC

Is this Orange Pi free as in freedom?

2016-12-19 03:21:19 UTC

Because a 100% free Raspberry Pi ripoff is something I've been looking for.

2016-12-19 03:23:46 UTC

Q12: ARE ALL SOURCES AVAILABLE (KERNEL, HARDWARE DRIVERS/FIRMWARE, especially the Mali 400 graphics chip)?
A12:All source code include kernel, hardware driviers/firmware, Orange pi will open to public, except that Orange pi also use some dynamic lib that do not open to us. Orange pi will open all the source code we have. For mali 400 graphics source code, we also get from sunxi upstream. You can get the source code from Orange pi github: https://github.com/orangepi-xunlong

2016-12-19 03:24:02 UTC

It's not 100% freedom

2016-12-19 03:51:47 UTC
