I mostle use screws with things that I have to open often, in CAD i build a circular column and then I drill the inside with a tip that makes the shape of the screw

I don't know the name of the tip in English, but it makes the shape of the screw and if you drill really slow you can make it without damaging the cylinder

you can use a manual drill bit handle if you're worried about damage too, and if you're just making a drill into an existing pilot hole from your cad design for an appropriate screw, it wouldn't take long at all
