T440s is what I'm looking at for him
Well if it's just for ~~internet~~ facebook, yeah that's more than enough
Yeah
Also Skype I suppose
Whatever boomers use
also for 300 you might get X240 think pads used too
Not sure if that's advisable
(ones with 3G/gps and all that jazz)
T440s got a bigger screen
yeah depends totaly if its to be stationary or portable
In any case "bigger is better"
Boomer after all
you wish
:D
Heavier also, so it's better
i mean at that case old used toughbooks go for 300 at times
"more robust" kind of shit
core 2 duo toughbooks to some "i dont know anything about computers"
that face would be priceless on first boot when XP or Win7 icon starts spinning
"only 2.1kg (with or without battery ? we dont know nobody does ?"
and mil standard parts and casing
🤔 (if only milspec meant good....)
It means for boomers
true~
Also got a 5/5 rating on Cnet
ohh yes must have
(in 2001 :D )
Jokes aside, T440s if the boomer wants a "big thingy", X2xx if he wants to be mobile
I guess we can pretty much all agree on that
yeah other good stuff on used price range might be HP Probooks and what not
I'm ~~kinda gay~~ biaised for Thinkpad personally
How good/bad are the HP Proobooks compared to thinkpad counterparts?
(they are usually more expensive in my region so a bit out of the question for me personally but you never know)
their life-/pro-/ultra-/elite-books are pretty much in same line with dell latitudes and lenovo <whateverbusinessmodels>
made for business it just depends what you need specwise
portability,ports,batterylife, etc
I was more interested in the quality of build / expected lifetime for a similarly spected lenovo vs HP pro/elite book
where as T440s are decent at all master of none of those, *books usualy tend to be more focused toward single need
Oh
So more "specialized" or something like that?
