at a slightly higher price you can get a Kia eNiro which is fucking loaded with options

2019-06-21 13:36:16 UTC

Errrrr

2019-06-21 13:36:17 UTC

Slightly?

2019-06-21 13:36:18 UTC

@Mereck the interior looked like a 10 year old Renault, the materials, the build quality, everything

2019-06-21 13:36:45 UTC

It's like almost 50% more expensive

2019-06-21 13:36:50 UTC

isn't it like 35k vs 45k eur?

2019-06-21 13:36:58 UTC

idk where you are but here nah

2019-06-21 13:37:00 UTC

at least that's local pricing for Zoe vs eNiro

2019-06-21 13:37:04 UTC

🇨🇿

2019-06-21 13:37:10 UTC

Starting price for Zoé in France is around 20k

2019-06-21 13:37:15 UTC

(without any bonus)

2019-06-21 13:37:24 UTC

Kia e-Niro is more like 35k

2019-06-21 13:37:46 UTC

So sure it's better, but it's like... not "slightly" more expensive

2019-06-21 13:37:52 UTC

As for me I was looking into the Leaf

2019-06-21 13:38:06 UTC

But it's on par with that Kia

2019-06-21 13:38:11 UTC

And I'm not about to fork that money

2019-06-21 13:38:13 UTC

Also

2019-06-21 13:38:17 UTC

this is just

2019-06-21 13:38:18 UTC

I'm ok with buying second hand

2019-06-21 13:38:19 UTC

ugh

2019-06-21 13:38:26 UTC

Zoé second hand is cheap, but Leaf isn't

2019-06-21 13:38:27 UTC

new gen leaf?

2019-06-21 13:38:43 UTC

I heard Leaf, even new gen, sadly has pretty serious battery degradation problems

2019-06-21 13:38:46 UTC

If possible but even previous gen would be fine if it's in the more expensive models

2019-06-21 13:38:51 UTC

which has to do with the way they're cooling batteries

2019-06-21 13:39:03 UTC

Well shiet... it looked nice on the paper >_>

2019-06-21 13:39:05 UTC

IIRC Nissan air cools them, where as most other EVs these days do liquid cooling

2019-06-21 13:39:13 UTC

look up the issue I'm not entirely sure rn

2019-06-21 13:39:33 UTC

but a 4 or something year old first gen Leaf would have 50% capacity

2019-06-21 13:39:48 UTC

if only there was a market with aftermarket battery packs already

2019-06-21 13:39:56 UTC

only then can EVs truly "bloom"

2019-06-21 13:40:25 UTC

Apparently it's still air cooled on the new models

2019-06-21 13:40:44 UTC

They just say it's "better prepared"

2019-06-21 13:40:51 UTC

Not sure what that means

2019-06-21 13:41:21 UTC

But then I'd probably be using this car for commute and short/medium length travels (< 100km)

2019-06-21 13:41:25 UTC

if you can buy a 5 year old EV which used to have 300km range on paper (so like 250 realistically)

and put a brand new aftermarket battery pack inside which would raise that to 400km of real range

that would make EVs much more feasible for the average wagecuck

2019-06-21 13:41:34 UTC

So I'm not that much concerned on battery issues unless it's very severe

2019-06-21 13:42:14 UTC

well I'd expect the battery issues to become worse if you drive short distances, especially in summer

2019-06-21 13:42:40 UTC

seeing as there wouldn't be enough air circulation to properly cool them but I'm no genius so what the hell do I know ???

2019-06-21 13:42:44 UTC

I'd have thought the opposite?
