I've got some nice metal pedals. One side is regular pedal, the other is a clip for my cycling shoes. Stops my feet slipping off when I'm going 50kmph

Like, I get your point but those are free, and I don't want to $$ on this one. I think I'm going to run it for a bit longer while I get something else together that can run cargo.

The clips are great

But getting used to them is shit

I'll keep it in mind for that next bike I'm building

Keep in mind if you're getting pedals like that, you'll need the shoes to go with, but regular metal pedals are good too, last a lot longer. I replaced my plastic pedals that were falling apart with them

If you do go for clips, go for mtb clips and not road clips, because the road ones are flush with the shoe, whereas the road ones aren't, so you can't walk about in road bike shoes.
