>>> Fifa_WorldCup2014_Uruguay-Colombia_4K-x265.mp4 (4K, H.265, 60 fps) – First frame only for several seconds then video updates every 5-10 seconds with heavily gray frames, and frequent audio cuts. Eventually, lost mouse pointer and control of the system -> hard power cycle required
>>> MHD_2013_2160p_ShowReel_R_9000f_24fps_RMN_QP23_10b.mkv (10-bit HEVC, 24 fps) – First frame only for several seconds then video becomes gray, and system hangs
>>> Beauty_3840x2160_120fps_420_8bit_HEVC_MP4.mp4 (H.265) – First frame only
tho cnx-soft states that he had first distro spins for 4
so results probly vary in future patches
(he didnt get 4k desktop even to work with 4k TV :D
I'm assuming the system is still in its infancy, and will need future work to fully implement the hardware as shipped.
That, and the 4k support will be better put to desktop work rather than trying to stream two different 4k Crunchyroll feeds.
your other option is Rock64 if single desktop is fine for you (well single proper size hdmi port at least*
i think tinker board and odroids newest support it too
could make for a fun little project, rn I just use Plex on my main pc
buut ~cant say for sure
add Jackett to your list too for proper support
and ofc Sickrage if you want proper video library manager
aaaand what else there is to make it all in one htpc ?
(at some point you get frustrated to the list and either use DietPi-config tools for it or AtoMiC toolkit :D
and force love of god "Force Encryption" on every fucking thing
and with sickrage you get showsrage android menu for managing stuff more easily :P
but as always only watch open and free licensed movies <:thonkang:327933449597878312> as piraty is big no no
See, I was pondering on the Rock64, but I wanted an SBC for game emulation inside the case of a portable TV I scrounged from an old camper van.
Uhh, in other words I was wondering if the Rock64 would be better than the RasPi4 for game emulation. I think the Pi would be better overall for processing ability, as well as aftermarket support.
Like, the Rock64 doesn't have much of a community and the emulation scene will not be as robust.
as long as Lakka supports it is there that much problem
it is X64 system after all
i mean if stuff what are pretty much equal to it like XU4 odroid can handle most of what Lakka has to throw at it ?
unless you really desperate need that niche support for your Atari 7800 ....
Name some good FREE movies @Tervy besides the blender ones
I was thinking about power draw too, but it's tough to find good benchmarks for the Rock64. Bear in mind the SBC I need would have composite video out for the portable TV to read from.
@Kimichiboi i think there is list somewhere in wi9kipedia fort your needs :P tho not all of it are "good" by everyones terms
from absurd stuff like Valkamaa and Route 66 to Blender stuff
also ofc whole rebuild Potemkin silent movie :P
(thaats about all i can remember)
@Iren Masot there does exist 5V1A hdmi > composite for cheap from china too .. but yeah forget the powerdraw if you plan emulate stuff anyway :P
it will be running on fulldraw whole time it emulates anything
no matter what you get there
--nvm
https://youtu.be/imkSdlbXB_U these videos really motivate me to git gud
I wouldn't want to use a converter, as I'm hoping to run the TV from the original battery source. It uses 6 "D" cell batteries at 9 volts, and the TV is stated to consume 10W during regular operation. I want to keep power draw as low as possible for this application.
wait ... you want to strap that thing to same batteries..
standard D-cell has 4 ish Amphours (from top of my head iirc) at 1.5v (or 12Wh if you will ?
I could check again, but I think it's closer to 15 for alkaline, and 4 for rechargeables.
