2019-06-08 16:55:09 UTC

Depends on the usecase

2019-06-08 22:08:49 UTC

my man got the raid toggle

2019-06-10 19:25:07 UTC

Y'all know any good laptops for about 1000 USD that could both handle gaming and not be too gamery for everyday carry and taking notes at uni etc

2019-06-10 19:25:12 UTC

asking for a friend

2019-06-10 19:26:42 UTC

choose 2 from next: Battery life, Performance, Weight,Price

2019-06-10 19:27:17 UTC

>laptop
>gaming

2019-06-10 19:27:24 UTC

2019-06-10 19:27:27 UTC

2019-06-10 19:27:58 UTC

@Tervy perfect would be somewhere in the middle for all but we know thats not a thing

2019-06-10 19:28:23 UTC

yeah for you its either notes and no cable .. or games and cable everywhere

2019-06-10 19:28:30 UTC

check out dell i like their laptops

2019-06-10 19:28:30 UTC

performance doesnt have to be top notch, my friend doesnt play aaa games at max settings

2019-06-10 19:28:46 UTC

What's "gaming"for you

2019-06-10 19:29:20 UTC

something that can run modernish games at medium-high settings?

2019-06-10 19:29:36 UTC

I dont know shit about gaming laptops, so my perspective might be skewed

2019-06-10 19:29:46 UTC

give few game examples

2019-06-10 19:29:49 UTC

and it helps a ton

2019-06-10 19:29:55 UTC

Is E-GPU an option

2019-06-10 19:30:49 UTC

maybe something like a 1060 (2060?) and an i7, 16 gigs of ram and 500 gb ssd?

2019-06-10 19:30:59 UTC

forget weight and batterylife

2019-06-10 19:31:11 UTC

1060 laptop = 3kgs + right there

2019-06-10 19:32:23 UTC

Gaming laptops are all terrible value

2019-06-10 19:32:34 UTC

and most like looks

2019-06-10 19:33:03 UTC

what about something with good enough specs to run csgo at a good framerate?

2019-06-10 19:33:24 UTC

Literally ANY laptop besides a Wal-Mart special can do that

2019-06-10 19:33:26 UTC

a 1050 should handle that game easily

2019-06-10 19:33:44 UTC

yeah Im asking him right now what he wants to compromise

2019-06-10 19:34:05 UTC

if he doesnt want to compromise at all, I'll just tell him to buy a laptop for general use and pc for gaymen

2019-06-10 19:34:53 UTC

or pay more

2019-06-10 19:35:32 UTC

how much more we talkin

2019-06-10 19:35:48 UTC

depends how non-gamery you want it to look not much

2019-06-10 19:35:52 UTC

**more**.

2019-06-10 19:36:41 UTC

well hes currently wagecucking somewhere in Maine

2019-06-10 19:36:50 UTC

Maine is a comfy state

2019-06-10 19:36:57 UTC

although hes a fellow lithu irl friend

2019-06-10 19:37:17 UTC

so hes thinking of buying there and bringing the laptop back here

2019-06-10 19:37:30 UTC

since that would avoid 21% VAT

2019-06-10 19:37:42 UTC

But the best logical choice, 100% of the time, is to have a light weight laptop for general use, and a gaymen PC for gaming

2019-06-10 19:38:44 UTC

Buy e-GPU is a possibility now. Get a laptop with thunderbolt support , and for another 400-500 you can get the dock and a GPU, and then you also get expandability down the line
