note xbox start select buttons

2019-07-10 20:21:08 UTC

pastel colors ☁

2019-07-10 20:21:14 UTC

literal child's play

2019-07-10 20:28:52 UTC

there's gray too

2019-07-11 13:30:27 UTC

tldr: some "smart" chargers regonise the pi as audio adapter and wotn charge them due single resistor on 2 cc pins isntead of 1 per each

2019-07-11 13:31:56 UTC

after note you need "smart" charger AND a fucking E-tier cable to get the bug out

2019-07-11 13:34:22 UTC

Also will be fixed in next rev

2019-07-11 14:14:17 UTC

i'll never understand why engineers feel the need to do this

2019-07-11 14:14:26 UTC

if there's a reference design in a datasheet i'm sure as hell yeeting it

2019-07-11 17:29:18 UTC

if it works with whats on your desk why wouldnt it work on every conceivable combination of chargers and cables? surely usb c isnt a giant unlabeled mess

2019-07-11 17:30:33 UTC

im being sarcastic about what might have happened

2019-07-11 17:33:07 UTC

they like to pull that shit with videogames. sometimes theyll be awful on only amd or require specifically the latest i7 and nvidia meme to get over 60 fps and have to be eventually patched to fix it

2019-07-11 17:46:19 UTC

no matter how professional someone is, sometimes they goof up

2019-07-11 17:47:01 UTC

and sometimes enough people goof up in a row for the goofs to reach the consumer

2019-07-11 19:49:37 UTC

usb c for consumers is a pretty big clusterfuck yes

2019-07-11 19:49:44 UTC

but for people making the device, no

2019-07-11 19:50:10 UTC

i don't really see the parallel with videogames

2019-07-11 19:50:13 UTC

completely different thing

2019-07-11 21:26:44 UTC

god bless terry

2019-07-11 21:26:59 UTC

he was too pure for this world

2019-07-12 11:59:31 UTC

So they can't fix the pi 4 with a bios firmware or something? Lol

2019-07-12 12:00:31 UTC

its due hardware so no

2019-07-12 12:00:55 UTC

basicly "smart chargers + smart cable" thinks its audio device if it does not have 2 resistor but only 1 shared resistor

2019-07-12 12:01:24 UTC

and as raspbi for some reason or other used 1 shared resistor the "smart" chargers regonize it wrong

2019-07-12 12:01:27 UTC

and shit the bed

2019-07-12 12:02:11 UTC

it does not matter to any normal charger or etc system

2019-07-12 12:02:16 UTC

just for the smart chargers

2019-07-12 12:03:45 UTC

so if you happen to use "smart"charger and/or type-e "smart" usb-c cable it wont work properly ??

2019-07-12 12:07:16 UTC

Type-e = Electronical Marking/Electronicaly Marked cable what has microship, resistors and larger price tag

2019-07-12 12:07:47 UTC

what generaly are used only for devices what specialy require some power-modes

2019-07-12 12:08:06 UTC

standard probly says something about amp-limits or "gen 1 compatitly" bullshit too what considers "EMCA" circuitry etc

2019-07-12 12:13:06 UTC

people smarter than me can correct me if i have misunderstood any part of that

2019-07-12 13:14:31 UTC

how does amd fare in the mobile cpu market?

2019-07-12 13:17:18 UTC

upcoming laptop stuff is not yet in market .. few ryzen desktop replacement laptops aand thats about it

2019-07-12 13:19:38 UTC

then there are those 2500u/3700U and their brethen what are tolerable but nothing to write home about really

2019-07-12 13:19:52 UTC

so i5-i7 still dominate right

2019-07-12 13:20:03 UTC

depends what you need

2019-07-12 13:20:19 UTC

but usualy its safer bet unless you know your usecase accurately (aka needs those cores/support whatever

2019-07-12 13:21:17 UTC

my non tech friend asked me and i dont follow laptop tech so i had to ask just in case
