the "initial 8 hour Charge" is usualy under the "smart calibration" where it runs feq quick-charge cycles the establish the max stat on the battery

2019-06-10 11:00:44 UTC

but said smart calibration should do it every time its left to the wall

2019-06-10 11:00:53 UTC

not just "first time when booting

2019-06-10 11:01:26 UTC

yea i am just trying to charge this thing after putting it in for the first time and it does not charge at all

2019-06-10 11:02:02 UTC

i have just been messaging the dear friend from ali, i haven't 'confirmed' my order yet

2019-06-10 11:02:10 UTC

yeah if it does not charge at all then either its wired to shit, it does not regonize it or the hardware is locked so that only certain batteries are accepted

2019-06-10 11:02:18 UTC

from quickly on top of my head

2019-06-10 11:02:46 UTC

ofc the option that battery is just not working properly == shit

2019-06-10 11:03:12 UTC

it is the same "model", but that might still not matter?

2019-06-10 11:03:35 UTC

depends whats the problem on it

2019-06-10 11:03:35 UTC

i'm willing to talk to this dear friend from ali a bit more before i do any refunding

2019-06-10 11:03:42 UTC

or confirming

2019-06-10 11:03:58 UTC

certain shitty vendors are known to whitelist their hardware, use drm chips on printer inks, etc etc

2019-06-10 11:05:41 UTC

Hey, don't buy the Xiaomi repeater 2, they patched mi home so you can't even connect to unsecured networks

2019-06-10 11:05:52 UTC

so if you're using it for drone stuff it's worthless

2019-06-10 11:06:27 UTC

but yeah basicly that initial/mandatory charge time is from NiMH battery ero where the chemical structure can develop memory and other shit

2019-06-10 11:06:50 UTC

i would be great with waiting for initial 8 hours of charge time if I actually knew it was charging

2019-06-10 11:07:12 UTC

but yeah id rule it as broken if it does not show charging under the phone menu

2019-06-10 11:07:16 UTC

or what ever device you are using

2019-06-10 11:07:20 UTC

i can't even turn it on

2019-06-10 11:07:51 UTC

it's as if no battery is in

2019-06-10 11:08:14 UTC

did you wire it right :D

2019-06-10 11:08:42 UTC

yea i just put the thing on in the same way as the old battery

2019-06-10 11:08:57 UTC

i was able to put the old battery back and it worked fine (but i wanted to replace it)

2019-06-10 11:09:07 UTC

(because it drained too fast)

2019-06-10 11:09:17 UTC

what phone

2019-06-10 11:09:22 UTC

/battery

2019-06-10 11:09:31 UTC

xiaomi RN3P global, BM46

2019-06-10 11:10:11 UTC

it has this weird thin flat wire that ended in some small pins

2019-06-10 11:10:40 UTC

like this, but it snaps into the board just fine

2019-06-10 11:11:08 UTC

and it's not loose at all

2019-06-10 11:14:49 UTC

sounds like dead battery or they have some chink-magic going on there and it needs initilisation or some shit somehow somwhere

2019-06-10 11:15:06 UTC

yea i'm hoping on the chink magic

2019-06-10 11:15:25 UTC

i will try all the hocus pocus dear ali friend tells me but if it doesnt work they can't blame me for wanting a refund

2019-06-10 11:15:30 UTC

i mean at worst its housefire sooo

2019-06-10 11:17:27 UTC

they are LiPo batteries so if they somehow managed to empty the battery completly and that safety chip did not do its work

2019-06-10 11:17:44 UTC

then its dead for sure

2019-06-10 11:17:53 UTC

>Hello, friend, please do not worry, the battery is good, but after a long period of transport, the battery goes to sleep, You can activate the battery with a universal charger. Then it works.

2019-06-10 11:19:36 UTC

if its li-ion with proper protective circuits sure it can go to "sleep" (security shutdown to prevent over discharge)
