yea i just put the thing on in the same way as the old battery

2019-06-10 11:08:57 UTC

i was able to put the old battery back and it worked fine (but i wanted to replace it)

2019-06-10 11:09:07 UTC

(because it drained too fast)

2019-06-10 11:09:17 UTC

what phone

2019-06-10 11:09:22 UTC

/battery

2019-06-10 11:09:31 UTC

xiaomi RN3P global, BM46

2019-06-10 11:10:11 UTC

it has this weird thin flat wire that ended in some small pins

2019-06-10 11:10:40 UTC

like this, but it snaps into the board just fine

2019-06-10 11:11:08 UTC

and it's not loose at all

2019-06-10 11:14:49 UTC

sounds like dead battery or they have some chink-magic going on there and it needs initilisation or some shit somehow somwhere

2019-06-10 11:15:06 UTC

yea i'm hoping on the chink magic

2019-06-10 11:15:25 UTC

i will try all the hocus pocus dear ali friend tells me but if it doesnt work they can't blame me for wanting a refund

2019-06-10 11:15:30 UTC

i mean at worst its housefire sooo

2019-06-10 11:17:27 UTC

they are LiPo batteries so if they somehow managed to empty the battery completly and that safety chip did not do its work

2019-06-10 11:17:44 UTC

then its dead for sure

2019-06-10 11:17:53 UTC

>Hello, friend, please do not worry, the battery is good, but after a long period of transport, the battery goes to sleep, You can activate the battery with a universal charger. Then it works.

<:blobconfounded:427568418107949090>

2019-06-10 11:19:36 UTC

if its li-ion with proper protective circuits sure it can go to "sleep" (security shutdown to prevent over discharge)

2019-06-10 11:20:09 UTC

yea but i don't see the charging progress bar, isn't that kinda a thing you should see when you plug it in

2019-06-10 11:20:14 UTC

but that usualy means they wont wake up ever again

2019-06-10 11:20:20 UTC

he says "try charging for 8 hours" lol

2019-06-10 11:20:28 UTC

but it's not shown to be charging

2019-06-10 11:20:44 UTC

i'll do it anyway and after 8 hours if it still doesn't work he has no excuse

2019-06-10 11:21:56 UTC

and taking that leap of faith to try ressurect "sleeping" li-ion would need booster function on battery charger/analyzer to have chance to wake it up from sub 2.9v state

2019-06-10 11:22:09 UTC

yea and i doubt a universal charger has that 2.9 v thing

2019-06-10 11:23:04 UTC

basicly the analyzers trick the chip to "yes yes we fine here full charge mate" untill the charger has managed to charge it to operating levels

2019-06-10 11:23:30 UTC

and ofc depending on opinions its not safe or healthy to operate any device you dont understand mechanics once the safety has tripped

2019-06-10 11:23:33 UTC

and i don't have that booster function or analyze

2019-06-10 11:23:44 UTC

i dunno if phone charging circuits have same function

2019-06-10 11:23:45 UTC

some might

2019-06-10 11:24:03 UTC

yeah it's okay, for now i'll just do what he said. i plug it in for 8 hours

2019-06-10 11:24:10 UTC

but you wont know unless you research the circuit or ask xiaomi

2019-06-10 11:24:20 UTC

just dont leave it alone for 8 hours

2019-06-10 11:24:22 UTC

yea xiaomi isn't likely to tell me

2019-06-10 11:27:21 UTC

smarter than me people who are engineers on the EE field can fix my shit if they see something out of place

2019-06-10 11:27:41 UTC

this is pretty much from top of my head stuff from school and work years

2019-06-10 11:28:21 UTC

yea well i have an electronics engineering degree and i'm not about to dissect this

2019-06-10 11:28:37 UTC

i don't have equipment at home to even try to see what's wrong

2019-06-10 11:58:16 UTC

based and EEpilled

2019-06-10 12:05:42 UTC

try turning the phone off
