you know you're overpaying when someone went through the effort of custom laser marking

2019-08-20 12:59:16 UTC

there's no way that crap pushes enough volume to warrant a custom chip

2019-08-20 13:01:03 UTC

lol what? do you realise how big the scene is for modding 360's?

2019-08-20 13:01:39 UTC

it's a jtag programmer, of which a dime a dozen exist

2019-08-20 13:01:41 UTC

it's a rebranded chip

2019-08-20 13:01:47 UTC

probably some generic microcontroller

2019-08-20 13:01:49 UTC

I paid £13 for the programmer or something, it's more expensive through the official channels as opposed to from Ali. look up JR Programmer

2019-08-20 13:01:56 UTC

What's it for @onoderaSecurity

2019-08-20 13:02:03 UTC

top one is a modchip i presume

2019-08-20 13:02:11 UTC

bottom one is for jtag

2019-08-20 13:02:14 UTC

Reset Glitch Hack for Xbox 360

2019-08-20 13:02:25 UTC

bottom one is programmer for NAND and modchips

2019-08-20 13:02:47 UTC

you flash timing files onto the modchip and flash console NAND

2019-08-20 13:03:51 UTC

Yes but what's the end result

2019-08-20 13:04:15 UTC

running unsigned code on xbox

meaning playing backups, emulators, etc

2019-08-20 13:06:34 UTC

it's an involved process but it's cool

2019-08-20 13:07:53 UTC

if you want a primer on the history and theory on this: https://youtu.be/Vq1lxeg_gNs

2019-08-20 13:09:04 UTC

the most simple way to describe RGH is that it sends reset pulses to the CPU while the CPU/Hypervisor check the NAND as to whether its been tampered with. it tricks the xbox into skipping the nand check and carrying on as normal.

2019-08-20 13:10:09 UTC

JTAG is the predecessor

2019-08-20 13:16:05 UTC

sorry for this being <#531212403858472967> but yeah you can buy all the equipment for this off Ali for relatively cheap

2019-08-20 13:16:57 UTC

glitch board itself (coolrunner rev c) is like 5 bucks. Programmer is one of the better ones for 10-15 but you can get a cheaper one with no connectors but it's not as convenient

2019-08-20 14:45:47 UTC

@onoderaSecurity does that work on the original slims?

2019-08-20 14:45:55 UTC

like release day slim

2019-08-20 14:45:58 UTC

forgot the board name

2019-08-20 15:13:50 UTC

@Droidbot Trinity? yes

2019-08-20 15:13:53 UTC

method is different

2019-08-20 15:14:02 UTC

look up "Muffin"

2019-08-20 15:49:45 UTC

Anyone got the Ajazz 33 (82 key) keeb?

2019-08-20 16:37:47 UTC

gonna start looking at the very low end soldering stations

2019-08-20 16:37:53 UTC

a la Yihua

2019-08-20 16:37:54 UTC

but idk which one

2019-08-20 16:38:13 UTC

yihua OEM i think

2019-08-20 16:38:51 UTC

i dont really need hot air, i seldom solder but i want something that isnt the 5 dollar trash and is somewhat safe
stupid seller didnt even dispatch my order yet

2019-08-20 17:11:20 UTC

debating whether to hop up to a 3-in-1 too

2019-08-20 17:11:31 UTC

something like this

2019-08-20 17:31:46 UTC

why not good old Quicko or KSGER stations ?

2019-08-20 18:06:14 UTC

ended up buying a Yihua 939D

2019-08-20 19:03:59 UTC

out of stock now but I trust this to be slightly better than the 937 even though its limited in stock

2019-08-20 19:16:00 UTC

>ebay uk >still comes from china i bet
