now shift a letter out of 'confinned' and u get 'confined' or replace a letter for 2 and u get 'confirmed'

now go back to the statement - 'investigation confinned by then-FBI director'

it could be 'investigation confirmed by then-FBI director' or 'investigation confined by then-FBI director'

first one makes more 'sense' but what if it was the other one....the investigation was confined to limits
