if you go up high enough, you will see the curve

We do actually see the curve in the second imagine and we can tell it's not a fish eye

2019-06-12 06:53:23 UTC

Oh really, April?

2019-06-12 06:53:26 UTC

rockets don't go straight up for a reason, it's inefficient

2019-06-12 06:53:26 UTC

Where?

2019-06-12 06:53:38 UTC

basic optics

2019-06-12 06:53:58 UTC

the effect on the first image is called fish eye, it creates a distorted view of the bridge

2019-06-12 06:54:12 UTC

Near the horizon it's not too noticeable the curve is a small curve due to how big the earth is

2019-06-12 06:54:18 UTC

The first image isn’t fisheye.

2019-06-12 06:54:19 UTC

it looks flat in the second photo because you're above and the earth is kinda big relative to the bridge

2019-06-12 06:54:22 UTC

it is though

2019-06-12 06:54:36 UTC

It’s Soundly’s photograph.

2019-06-12 06:55:42 UTC

If we can see curve at surface level, we absolutely would see it at higher elevation.

2019-06-12 06:55:48 UTC

Period.

2019-06-12 06:56:40 UTC

its an optics distortion

2019-06-12 06:56:51 UTC

the curve is exaggerated because of the lens the photo was taken with

2019-06-12 06:57:28 UTC

Sounds like you have a beef with Soundly.

2019-06-12 06:57:29 UTC

The second photo doesn't have any distortion that I know of

2019-06-12 06:57:35 UTC

maybe so

2019-06-12 06:57:41 UTC

It's nothing personal

2019-06-12 06:57:45 UTC

yeah, the second photo was taken with a different lens

2019-06-12 06:57:50 UTC

Lenses are werid

2019-06-12 06:58:07 UTC

But they are great

2019-06-12 06:59:47 UTC

i'm not a professional photographer but i would believe i have at least some knowledge on how lenses work from my experience

2019-06-12 07:00:13 UTC

The red bull jump was using a go pro that's not earths curve that's the go pro

2019-06-12 07:00:27 UTC

Correct.

2019-06-12 07:00:30 UTC

I have a go pro it does that

2019-06-12 07:00:56 UTC

again, the redbull jump is a lens effect, the earths curve would not be that round from 128,000ft, and the 10ft photo is basically the same effect as the bridge photo

2019-06-12 07:01:11 UTC

there is an excellent vsauce video on this somewhere

2019-06-12 07:01:52 UTC

Soundly is a hardcore glober. And you’re saying his photo is manipulated.

2019-06-12 07:02:11 UTC

no?

2019-06-12 07:02:25 UTC

No I'm saying it's distorted by the lens

2019-06-12 07:02:28 UTC

his photo is by nature what it is, the curve is exaggerated because of the lens he used

2019-06-12 07:04:57 UTC

2019-06-12 07:05:55 UTC

Because it never happened and they're lying.

2019-06-12 07:06:19 UTC

It’s a theory they ever went.

2019-06-12 07:06:25 UTC

@Deleted User way too many coincidence's in there
