Till the tank was filled with exhaust the rocket did not move.
Someone tell the ISS to stop firing for orbital corrections.
as soon as it ignited, it moved
before gas started spilling out
It did
Then it had that exhaust to push against.
here's an ISS reboost video
Nope. It took a second or so to get enough exhaust to make it not a vacuum.
n a rocket engine , fuel and a source of oxygen, called an oxidizer, are mixed and exploded in a combustion chamber. The combustion produces hot exhaust which is passed through a nozzle to accelerate the flow and produce thrust.
You need something to push against
No, you don’t
forces always act in equal but opposite pairs
you don't need something specifically to *push* against
that's a misinterpretation of the quote and law
If you stand on a skateboard and throw a bowling ball forward, that force will push you and the skateboard back. However, because your weight on the skateboard is heavier than that of the bowling ball, you won't move as far.
an experiment that no air is needed
Yep
that's a better experiment that explains the law better
"push" is not literally something that's pushing you
I always love claims without evidence....
hope that helps clears things up
here's a 25 min tour of the ISS
I can link a 50 min one if you want
The 50 minute one is good
there you go the 50 min one
much higher quality
multiple shots longer than several min
and interactions which make it very hard to point out fake things
The Hadfield one with the water wringing out of the cloth is my favorite. Literally no way to fake that kind of motion. The length is much longer than the zero g airplane, so you can rule that out.
Sometimes you see the wires. Sometimes they fake it in their jet. They use other methods. Not always is it very evident it is fake. But many Hollywood Sci Fi movies look very real.
pains me
just a bit

The jet does 20 seconds of zero g. These are 20-50 minute videos.
now we resort to tiny letter insults
