Whats the opinion here on sparring?
@Winston-CA As in MMA or fencing?
boxing
I would assume only weirdos hate fencing. Its the chad sport
Oh. Prolly wanna protect yer noggin, but if it's your thing, more power to ya 👍
I can't afford the loss of any brain cells, lol.
yeah I need to invest in some head gear, I just do it the park with some friends
Ive done fencing and boxing. If I had to choose a sport, it would be fencing that I prefer
Yo this Dissenter extension is pretty cool.
boxing is good, but I dont participate in sports thats can result in tons of trauma or injury
yeah I got it, its pretty fun
boxing is nice because it teaches a practical skill
fencing is better because it takes just as much skill, more endurance, and you dont lose IQ points to become like rocky
yeah boxing is good to know regardless.
teaches you balance and how to punch properly
I don't know much about brain trauma TBH, but I would assume thats mostly for people who do it as their main sport
like how foot ball players lose IQ points but its ok at through the ol' pigskin around with some friends and no gear sometimes
We really out here just never learning our lesson
I typically call it a day when I get a nosebleed and don't do in more than every two weeks
@Winston-CA In all fairness, I'm anti-cuckball, lol.
I like football when it was white
Same with basketball
i am 'eh' on most sports
@Winston-CA might wanna delete that post
sure
I just thought of something. Obviously we’re pro-America. But where do you guys stand on the Americanization of foreign culture? I’m against it
thats what the game is called though
Of course, when I talk about football, I just mean professional and college. A bunch of guys getting together for a game is cool, I guess, if you don't have a hockey rink close by, and your T levels are insufficient for rugby 😉
I am a traditionalist so no, I don't support that. er at least I don't support present culture
@Drover Tom Did you have a particular culture or phenomenon in mind?
@Bjorn - MD is a cool dude.
I approve this message.
@Bjorn - MD as in like you go to Vietnam or China, and there’s a McDonalds on every other corner and people are wearing t shirts with random English on it because they think it’s ‘cool’
Basically American pop culture diluting other cultures
Oh. Yeah, I experience a conflicting mix of resentment and empathy in those situations.
It’s an interesting topic, because it’s like to some extent it can be a good thing and too much can be a bad thing
I kinda see it as unambiguously bad, and I think it hurts us more than anyone else, because ours is the world's most appropriated (though paradoxically also the most appropriat*ing*) culture. I think our interactions would be a lot richer, more meaningful, and ultimately more respectful if we were all more authentic.
That’s my main thought. It think it gets grey when you go beyond pop culture and apply it to things like western medicine replacing traditional
If our culture is for everybody, it’s for nobody.
Our culture is not even our culture. We just adopted it first, but it does not identify us either
