and on FE the equator is about 50% longer than it actually is, and light doesnt travel equal distances

He completely misinterpreted how the tilt causes differences in global temperatures. As the sunlight is travelling effectively parallel at higher latitudes the same quantity of light is covering a larger surface area (the sunlight is less concentrated)
