the only issue with the circle tool is that its converting a sphere's surface into a circular calculation, which isnt a direct 1-1 as you can see in the video different scales of the circle will add or detract from the area. the tool more or less is made for smaller scales, it shouldnt be a question as to why the math is wrong but why you are using circular calculation for a spherical area, a dome if you will.

2019-09-19 10:41:53 UTC

if you cut out a circle and place it on a sphere, you will see it will not form properly and will fold on itself, same situation, the tool bugs out when calculating a domed surface like the glove model earth

2019-09-19 10:42:05 UTC

i think there are other tools like the 3d shape tool you can use for area

2019-09-19 10:44:32 UTC

at least thats what i think is happening, it could also just be the program being bugged i would put a ticket in if i cared enough to dev support

2019-09-19 10:50:45 UTC

for example, the photo you linked, the radius is 6301, the diameter would be 12602, multiplied by pi would be 39590 which is larger then stated circumference because it is on a sphere and not a flat 2d plane

2019-09-19 10:52:14 UTC

24k miles versus the almost 40k miles of t a proper circle, the tool isnt perfect as said, its not being used as intended just by simple math and thinking

2019-09-19 10:53:29 UTC

i hope that clears up the issue

2019-09-19 11:03:49 UTC

yeah

2019-09-19 11:11:13 UTC

Theres a bit more to it than just that though 🙂

2019-09-19 11:11:24 UTC

explain

2019-09-19 11:17:39 UTC

because that was the whole point of the video

2019-09-19 11:26:11 UTC

This is 'space' according to NASA

Land masses were off!

2019-09-19 11:30:24 UTC

ye

2019-09-19 11:30:56 UTC

nasa has training facilities underwater to prepare for an environment of low or microgravity

2019-09-19 11:31:28 UTC

they have tons of videos showing it off

2019-09-19 11:32:08 UTC

they use buoyancy to simulate the effect of microgravity

2019-09-19 11:33:19 UTC

whether or not you believe in said space as we know it or if you believe in the dome

2019-09-19 11:34:15 UTC

first couple seconds

2019-09-19 11:34:24 UTC

'the iss is a zero g environment'

2019-09-19 11:34:27 UTC

false

2019-09-19 11:34:38 UTC

Nope, water isnt 'zero G' 🙂

2019-09-19 11:34:40 UTC

it is scientifically inaccurate

2019-09-19 11:34:47 UTC

to call the science behind the ISS zero g

2019-09-19 11:34:56 UTC

which their understanding of what you call 'fake' to be none

2019-09-19 11:35:01 UTC

An you can see air bubbles in their LIVE ISS footage 🙂

2019-09-19 11:35:14 UTC

they dont even know about the thing they are trying to disprove

2019-09-19 11:35:18 UTC

which is funny

2019-09-19 11:35:43 UTC

ijr, lalaz

2019-09-19 11:35:47 UTC

oh well

2019-09-19 11:36:25 UTC

its not zero g

2019-09-19 11:36:27 UTC

on the iss

2019-09-19 11:36:30 UTC

for one

2019-09-19 11:36:49 UTC

its in a constant state of falling farther then the earth's curvature according to globe science

2019-09-19 11:36:54 UTC

weightlessness not zero g

2019-09-19 11:36:56 UTC

Yeah, great NASA CGI eh

2019-09-19 11:36:58 UTC

You do know it could be just either ice that accumulates on the ISS surface

2019-09-19 11:36:59 UTC

it is affected by earth's gravity

2019-09-19 11:37:13 UTC

so the debris

2019-09-19 11:37:24 UTC

is not following laws of microgravity
