ah ive been using the tool a bit

the only issue with the circle tool is that its converting a sphere's surface into a circular calculation, which isnt a direct 1-1 as you can see in the video different scales of the circle will add or detract from the area. the tool more or less is made for smaller scales, it shouldnt be a question as to why the math is wrong but why you are using circular calculation for a spherical area, a dome if you will.

if you cut out a circle and place it on a sphere, you will see it will not form properly and will fold on itself, same situation, the tool bugs out when calculating a domed surface like the glove model earth

i think there are other tools like the 3d shape tool you can use for area

at least thats what i think is happening, it could also just be the program being bugged i would put a ticket in if i cared enough to dev support

for example, the photo you linked, the radius is 6301, the diameter would be 12602, multiplied by pi would be 39590 which is larger then stated circumference because it is on a sphere and not a flat 2d plane

24k miles versus the almost 40k miles of t a proper circle, the tool isnt perfect as said, its not being used as intended just by simple math and thinking
