hi

2019-08-04 19:39:12 UTC

<#547645432604393482> No. Why should teaching children how to properly right be removed from the ciriculum?

2019-08-04 19:39:24 UTC

It makes no sense

2019-08-04 19:39:28 UTC

ikr

2019-08-04 19:47:08 UTC

If anyone agress with the <#547645432604393482> I would love to hear why.

2019-08-04 19:50:50 UTC

Probably because handwriting isn't necessary anymore. Nobody uses handwriting and nobody requires handwriting.

2019-08-04 19:51:43 UTC

how is it not necessary?

2019-08-04 19:52:36 UTC

How *is* it necessary? To be clear, we're taking about handwriting and not simple printing, which of course is still necessary.

2019-08-04 19:52:56 UTC

Ah

2019-08-04 19:56:04 UTC

Nobody uses handwriting? That's a load of bull

2019-08-04 19:56:19 UTC

Specifically, cursive.

2019-08-04 19:56:29 UTC

Printing is still used

2019-08-04 19:56:39 UTC

Handwriting is useless? Pffft

2019-08-04 19:57:32 UTC

I don't know a single person who uses 'printing' as opposed to cursive

2019-08-04 19:58:11 UTC

I think it's specifically cursive that's to be removed.
I don't know ANYONE that still uses cursive

2019-08-04 19:58:34 UTC

Woah, seriously? Where are you from dude

2019-08-04 19:58:44 UTC

Canada

2019-08-04 19:58:58 UTC

Experiencing major culture shock right now

2019-08-04 19:59:01 UTC

Everyone prints or types.

2019-08-04 19:59:44 UTC

I'm pretty sure most people in Europe go for handwriting

2019-08-04 19:59:53 UTC

Oh really??

2019-08-04 20:00:09 UTC

At least in my experience, yes

2019-08-04 20:00:23 UTC

Everyone I've met

2019-08-04 20:00:40 UTC

It's not ever seen around here anymore.

2019-08-04 20:01:07 UTC

Expect maybe with older people

2019-08-04 20:02:21 UTC

I guess cursive handwriting is seen as a more sophisticated thing and printing, typing as a modern one. Maybe it'll overcome Europe too eventually

2019-08-04 20:02:36 UTC

Would be sad to see it go though

2019-08-04 20:03:36 UTC

It's certainly more sophisticated. I took cursive when I went to school. I think because people type more, it's just not used here anymore.

2019-08-04 20:08:10 UTC

@Storm4ce42 just a cool comparison

2019-08-04 20:08:51 UTC

Huh? Took cursive as in its a full on course? We get taught cursive handwriting first thing, don't even get a chance at printing

2019-08-04 20:09:35 UTC

Imagine being obsessed with a Disney movie

2019-08-04 20:14:07 UTC

Imagine acknowledging a classic being shitted on a 2019 remake

2019-08-04 20:14:21 UTC

I saw the remake it was horrific
