First of all, before it got all the way through into space the balloon would pop. So the weather balloon can't go that high. Sending a weather balloon into the air pollutes Earth as well.

With any distortion you need to center it
(barrel distortion like with high fov cameras)
Very low fov cameras won't show curve at 100k feet
