***Excuse me what the frick***

Atheism also operates on the preconception that a higher power doesn't exist in fairness
NEWRD 😮
also this is a tangential argument and doesn't matter

***Everyone: N O W F R I C K***
religion is a faith system to believe in a higher power, atheism is the refusal to believe in a higher power. not sure why you wanna bring atheism in there too though
@Logrian na but if things fall down because of dentisty then a 1x1 meter block of gold would fall faster then my laptop but they dont
Atheism isn't *literally* a religion but it is often used as an almost surrogate belief system
Agnostic atheism makes no assertions about the existence of a deity.
well
Strong atheism is like a religion though
In a way
But Atheism in general does as well as Antitheism
Yes i guess the only real difference is the higher power aspect
the one believes there is one, the other believes there isn't one
@Cobra Commander you could compare atheism to other types of spirituality, but not to a religion, religion is an organized spiritual belief system, there is not a church of atheism or teachings of the atheist lol
I already said that Atheism isn't literally a religion
exactly ^^
so in that regard i believe you can draw a comparison, but yes Atheism doesn't really have the inner working of a religion as well.
Atheism can be divided into agnostic/weak and strong atheism. The former doesn’t claim to know there isn’t a god, but the later does. One has properties of a religion. The other doesn’t.
@carlito still don't understand why you wanted to include atheism in my sentence though
Nice generalization
lol
But where these terms become problematic is when Atheism does mean a refusal of god in its original definition, and the word has been used to mean something that it isn't really.
isn't always the case but it can be quite hilarious if it is
Atheism is the lack of belief in a god, not necessarily the belief that there isn’t a god.
@carlito why did you want to bring atheism in my sentence though?
probably an attempt at a 'gotcha' moment
@Cobra Commander Atheism is the lack of belief in a god, not necessarily the belief that there isn’t a god.
That's how the word is used today, yes, but that's not the words original definition means
Definitions change
They shouldn't, because it muddies the language overtime
@carlito are you gone? :/
Languages evolve
lol not really just exmortus is dividing my attention more rn apologies @Akhanyatin
Gender has essentially been a synonym of sex until a few years ago, due to the advent of things like political correctness
what does old people beating up kids have to do with anything again Abe? didn't catch that
