Perspective is used to explain it by some. Something as simple as a ceiling fan was used. The observer moved from one end of the room to the other, and the fan did change directions, depending where he stood. However, the bi-pole flat plane model also explains them.

This thought is a what-if scenario with no real idea of how the stars would be moving in two different directions, whereas, on the globe model, the movement is perfectly explained - the celestial poles are the axial rotations of the earth's poles.

Looking due South, the south celestial pole is visible from all landmasses in the southern hemisphere. On the flat earth, the distances spread out greatly between continents. South America would have a different sky than Australia, yet the same sky can be seen from both.

Z brought this up to me, swinging me right back here to flat land. Earth isn't just spinning slowly in a vacuum, it's also flying in a variety of directions.
