research it properly

2019-09-29 18:39:40 UTC

in that case I don't think boiling is enough

2019-09-29 18:39:52 UTC

needs to be filtered and distilled

2019-09-29 18:41:13 UTC

city / town water quality varies widely depending on location

2019-09-29 18:41:21 UTC

flint moment

2019-09-29 18:41:23 UTC

ever over short distances

2019-09-29 18:42:12 UTC

I've seen water samples from about 10 local sources

2019-09-29 18:42:36 UTC

extracts, with all kinds of particulates

2019-09-29 18:43:01 UTC

some ranging in color from none to white to very green...

2019-09-29 18:43:06 UTC

very nasty stuff

2019-09-29 18:43:20 UTC

powdery stuff in the water samples built up

2019-09-29 18:44:12 UTC

i think reverse osmosis is also a good option if it's done properly

2019-09-29 18:44:16 UTC

and that's why we don't drink, kids

2019-09-29 18:44:36 UTC

having a home water distillation machine is pretty maintenance intensive

2019-09-29 18:44:52 UTC

they have to be cleaned frequently

2019-09-29 18:44:56 UTC

depending on the type

2019-09-29 18:45:00 UTC

isn't it power hungry too?

2019-09-29 18:45:08 UTC

yes in some rases

2019-09-29 18:45:53 UTC

when i boil normal tap water the kettle element turns black with slime after a while

2019-09-29 18:46:06 UTC

with Ro3 water it's clean as a whistle

2019-09-29 18:46:12 UTC

wow! it's not butter!

2019-09-29 18:46:20 UTC

what we used to do was travel quite a ways every 2 weeks or so and bring several large 5 gallon water bottles and fill up with distilled water at this place that sold it

2019-09-29 18:46:45 UTC

but sadly that business was bought and sabotaged

2019-09-29 18:47:49 UTC

yes well having healthy alternatives is never a good prospect for industry

2019-09-29 18:48:44 UTC

if distilled was affordable i'd buy it but it's 10x the price of R03 so i stick with that

2019-09-29 18:49:45 UTC

in the past few years

2019-09-29 18:49:48 UTC

the water leeches out some of the plastic true but hell it's still better than tap water

2019-09-29 18:50:10 UTC

a competitor water store chain bought this mom and pop operation
they did not have as good of equipment or experience
they remodeled the store and then did not perform proper maintenance on the distillers / machines
overspent and then let the store location go under and it closed

2019-09-29 18:50:38 UTC

oh so it wasn't purposefully raided at least

2019-09-29 18:50:51 UTC

it almost seemed like it

2019-09-29 18:51:04 UTC

like the poor few remaining raw milk outlets

2019-09-29 18:51:13 UTC

after talking to the former owner

2019-09-29 18:51:38 UTC

farms have been disappearing for a very long time

2019-09-29 18:51:55 UTC

harder for them to make it over the corporations

2019-09-29 18:52:07 UTC

I remember when I was much younger and there was a local farm, we would go buy eggs etc. at

2019-09-29 18:52:23 UTC

that has been gone a long time

2019-09-29 18:52:24 UTC

yes well that's how corporations operate with an advantage of course

2019-09-29 18:52:47 UTC

it was right near a big chain dept store too

2019-09-29 18:52:54 UTC

it's so sad

2019-09-29 18:53:30 UTC

dirt road under some big trees and oh look its a hidden farm XD
