Laurens County, SC (WLTX) - Two Laurens men, one being a civil officer, were charged in connection to a marijuana growing operation.

SLED says the operation consisted of more than 10, but less than 100 marijuana plants. Equipment and components to manufacture marijuana were also found inside a building in Abbeville County.

Lauren County Magistrate Mareno Cyrus Foggie, 38, and Jonathan O'Neal Grant were both charged with manufacturing marijuana.

Tax and utility records indicate Foggie is the owner of the property where the suspected operation was conducted. Witnesses and neighbors also claimed Foggie visited the building this year, stating his white pick-up truck was seen there as recently as June 15-17.

Foggie did confirm he is the owner of the property, pays the electric bill and was at the property this year, according to a report. A search of the truck also revealed a manual for a dehumidifier found at the site.

Grant, who was allowed access to property by Foggie was also seen there this year, carrying red gas cans full of water into the building.

Both suspects were booked at the Abbeville County Detention Center.

It's been nearly a decade since Kenneth Green raped 4 victims and molested 3 girls under the age of 16. Find out why he is just now confessing... willfully.
