Authorities found no hazardous materials at Rep. Maxine Waters' South Los Angeles office following a report of a suspicious package on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said at around 3 p.m., it responded to a package reportedly labeled "anthrax" at 10124 S. Broadway St., where the congresswoman's L.A. office was located.
The agency later clarified that the package was addressed to "Anne Thrax," and that Los Angeles police requested a hazmat response from LAFD.
The individual who came into contact with the package did not voice any medical concerns as those affected in the two-story building were evacuated, according to the Fire Department.

At 4:38 p.m., the agency said crews started wrapping up in the Broadway-Manchester neighborhood after failing to find any hazardous substances.
Waters drew criticism from Trump and others in June after urging protesters at an immigration rights rally to confront administration officials in public.
The Democrat said she's seen an increase in threats as the president "continued to lie and falsely claim that I encouraged people to assault his supporters."
A far-right group announced a July 19 demonstration outside Waters' office, but police said they agreed to cancel it. Instead, dozens of counterprotesters gathered in the area at the time of the planned event.
Officials provided no further information about the Tuesday incident.

A high-ranking official with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is accused of misusing state land after building an unauthorized Tiki bar on property he was renting from the department, authorities announced Tuesday.
The fire official, who served as the assistant chief of the department, allegedly used two on-duty staff members to help construct the 16-foot-by-20-foot structure in the residence's backyard, according to an annual report issued by the California State Auditor’s Office.
