Honestly, there might be SOMETHING to it. We've completely let the female persona influence society. Men and women aren't the same and never will be, and it's a mistake to act the same. If we had to ration meat and veggies / nuts to survive, I'd give most if not all the meat to the men.

I don't see the necessity to eat meat because it's evident that a vegan diet can provide everything
