@therealdandan My mother went the last 12 years without receiveing the flu shot. Her kidney doctor talked her into it and 2 weeks later she passed away at 82

2020-08-19 23:30:44 UTC

and...

2020-08-19 23:30:49 UTC

im sorry for your loss

2020-08-19 23:30:57 UTC

but that is not evidance

2020-08-19 23:31:55 UTC

A coincidence is not evidence

2020-08-19 23:31:59 UTC

@therealdandan you can't necessarily make a claim that all elderly receive vaccines. My family doesn't

2020-08-19 23:32:53 UTC

if you have one 80 year-old take the flue vaccine, and not die

2020-08-19 23:33:03 UTC

what does that say

2020-08-19 23:33:52 UTC

@Deleted User do you know what a placebo is ?

2020-08-19 23:34:04 UTC

@therealdandan If every 80 year old dies after receiver the flu shot then we wouldn't be have this discussion

2020-08-19 23:34:13 UTC

8having

2020-08-19 23:34:33 UTC

just entertain me for a second ?

2020-08-19 23:35:04 UTC

do you know what a placebo is ?

2020-08-19 23:35:28 UTC

@therealdandan Yes. and by the way vaccines aren't test using a placebo sample group

in a study for a new cancer drug involving 10 people all ten participants were given chemo therapy 5 were given the new experimental medication and 5 were given the placebo

2020-08-19 23:38:10 UTC

the 5 who were given the placebo lived and the 5 who were given the experimental drug died

2020-08-19 23:38:26 UTC

what can we understand from this study?

2020-08-19 23:38:32 UTC

does placebo cure cancer?

2020-08-19 23:38:42 UTC

does the experimental drug kill people ?

2020-08-19 23:39:03 UTC

does chemo interact with the experimental drug?

2020-08-19 23:39:35 UTC

^ this was an example given in my experimental design class

2020-08-19 23:40:05 UTC

I would need to know which received the chemo

2020-08-19 23:40:15 UTC

all 10 did

2020-08-19 23:40:34 UTC

gotcha

2020-08-19 23:40:54 UTC

I do understand how the placebo works

2020-08-19 23:41:37 UTC

I knew this channel would pop off eventually

2020-08-19 23:41:59 UTC

@Smoke And it did

2020-08-19 23:42:08 UTC

It did indeed, aha

2020-08-19 23:42:13 UTC

lets not get off topic..

2020-08-19 23:43:34 UTC

My conclusion is that most people who argue in favor of vaccinations without monetary incentive haven't thought about them critically

2020-08-19 23:43:54 UTC

can you address my question?

2020-08-19 23:44:18 UTC

lets not go off topic

2020-08-19 23:44:27 UTC
2020-08-19 23:45:15 UTC

Sound like the drug may have interacted with the chemo

2020-08-19 23:45:50 UTC

We dont know that

2020-08-19 23:45:53 UTC

Honestly, can we just put an end to this insufferable buffoonery? There is no link causal link between vaccines and autism - despite the fact that dozens of studies have looked for one. This fanciful notion that there is an exercise in imagination and idiocy of the highest order. What on earth would it mean to “show that vaccines are safe”? How about this: They conclusively and demonstrably provide protection against deadly diseases without resulting in any meaningful complications in >99% of cases - extending life expectancy and helping to ensure against the violent retirement of our species at the hands of a viral agent. How on earth does that not qualify as “safe” to you? The fact that these claims are so pervasive, and that non-vaccinations are on the rise, is an indictment of stupidity on the human race. These vacuous, imbecilic, vexatious, nonsensical claims endanger the lives of others and undermine our robustness as a species. I’m sorry to be so vituperative, but I have little patience for people fanning the flame of infectious disease by frightening gullible parents into denying their newborns one of the greatest advancements in the history of the human race . It’s appalling, repugnant, irresponsible sophistry devoid of reason and rationality and fueled by foolishness and lunacy, and has the inevitable result of endangering the lives of human beings and degrading immunity.

@davesp1903 If you had multiple autistic members of your family you may not be able to dismiss it as buffoonery so easily. You'd want to know too
